I don't think anyone was expecting for her to "do well". It's that we live in a free country, and unless someone is an imminent risk of physical harm to themselves or others, we don't allow other people do dominate their lives. "Keeping her wealthy" isn't sufficient cause.

If true, sure. But all we have in that entire article is this single line:

I found it weird that she had two identical chef's knives. Who has two chef's knives that are the same size? Sure, you have one chef's knife and maybe a bread knife. Maybe you go crazy and get a Korean chef's knife, too. But two, eight-inch French-style chef's knives? Someone is feeding her knives.
