They offer the most insane options on these crossovers, you can easily top 150% of the base price.

I've come to the conclusion that nearly every woman secretly desires to be a tank commander.
You may have answered your own question.

Also check out the Mazda CX-9

Based on your list, I’d absolutely consider the new ‘18 Volvo XC60 and maybe the xc90 if you want something slightly larger.
Jeep Grand Cherokee is nice too, but I’d worry about long term maintenance issues if purchasing. If you’re interested in leasing, I believe the leftover 2017s are leasing really well, and you’ll never have the car out of warranty.

Wife has a 2014 Infiniti QX60. LOVES IT. over 80k miles and still runs like new. No issues (knocks wood). Just maintenance and tires.

I have a Highlander and love it. Give a try to the Infiniti qx60 though. I liked driving it too

570 is only in the LX, baw. GX only has the 4.6 liter V8. That's the same block as the LS (before 2017) - I'm surprised you find it sluggish, but it is only 301 HP in the GX.
Yeah, the 460 only has that one engine. You'd think a nice sized V8 like that would move that thing better, but he's right. It's sluggish as hell. The trade off is, it's built like a tank.

Wife has the MDX that we bought locally from the Fabre’s. If I had to do it again, I would have spent the extra money for a Lexus GX460.
Will eventually upgrade.

Got the wife an RX awd last month. It was between the rx and Highlander. We didn't need a third row and were not impressed with the highlander. Lexus dealers in Atlanta were willing to deal, and I used their prices on dealers local. Finally got our local dealer to match the price to the penny. For reliability the rx and gx are tough to beat. I would have preferred the gx, but it's not my ride.
