This. If you can get past the mommy mobile looks it's likely the best bang for your buck. Can find well equipped ones in the low to mid 30s and it will be 2-3 years newer than the options you're looking at.

The Wrangler is a joke unless you're a college student.

Stay far away from the Grand Cherokee. Those eat transmissions and have what's called a TIPM (Totally Integrated Power Module) that is prone to failing and will leave you stranded because it controls the power output to the fuel pump.

I'd look at the previous-gen Acura RDX. My GF and my uncle both have one and they're rock solid. You can get a loaded used one for under 25K.

The RX350 is rock solid but incredibly boring.

If you want something a bit more fun to drive take a look at the Audi Q5.

Q5 is way out of his price range unless he goes for a 2016 and those have absolutely garbage interiors.

Not sure if serious... the previous-gen Q5, A4, and A5 (same-ish interior since all on the same platform) all had one of the nicer interiors of that time period.

Honda Pilot, if you’re an Asian male or middle aged house wife.

a 2017 q5 had the same interior as the when the car debuted in 2009. That's complete garbage to not update that interior for nearly a decade.

It was a perfectly good interior in 2009. Trash for a 2016 or 2017.

We bought a 2004 Lexus RX in 2010 w/ 80k miles. Still driving it today and plan to drive it for the foreseeable future.

As someone else said, the Lexus might be boring but the thing starts up every morning and gets me where I need to go.

Lexus had a recall of the dashboard and that was the only thing that looked bad on my vehicle. Not anymore though.

Mother in Law has a 16 Forester and wife has a 15 CRV and the older CRV is 10 times the car.

What's a used infiniti qx60 or qx60 Hybrid go for? I have 106,000 trouble free miles on my Q50S hybrid and I freaking love the highway in this thing. I gotta think the SUV is pretty nice.
