Longest you have seen for someone you know to graduate with an undergrad degree?

I worked with a guy who said it took him 7 years but he admittedly never took a full course schedule and partied a lot. The other day someone said they have heard of people going 8 years. How is this possible? I feel like you would have failed out by your 8th year.

I took six years - three universities and two major changes, plus much partying.

That’s understandable I was more referring to full time student with part time jobs

Took me six football seasons to graduate LSU (barely 2.05 gpa) with a history degree.

7 1/2 years
Had a friend who went and played baseball at a small school first. Then transferred to LSU and changed his major. Ended up moving back home and changed majors again. A lot of classes didn't transfer over I guess

1984 - 1994. Left LSU with 200+ hours. Might be a record.

A friend spent four or five years the first go-round without a degree to show for it. He went to work in the oilfield for a few years when he had his first kid, then went back to school part-time while working full-time and raising a family. I think he's currently on year nine or ten with a couple more semesters left. He's actually a very intelligent guy, but he marches to the beat of his own drummer. Just the way some people are, ya know?

Took me 10 years. Never sat out a semester, paid my own way, lots of 6 hour semesters while working full time job to pay for school and bills.

I knew some people who were professional students when LSU's tuition was under a grand per semester and you could easily find cheap rentals near campus. I imagine that TOPS and its rules and the accompanying tuition increases make that much more difficult to pull off today.

Are you talking consecutively or in total? I started college out of high school but didn't graduate until 30. I did take 7 years off in between so I was only in school itself for 5 years (1 change in majors).

Garret Graves went to 3 universities for 6 years and never graduated?

I know a guy that took 8 years, changed his major during senior year from Chemistry to History, then 2 years later to education. PE teacher now

I took 8 years for my first degree off and on, and 21 months for the second.
My first GPA was a 2.001. My second was a 4.0
I was a bit disinterested in trying my first go round. And I took one class every semester to just sit in and learn. With zero intention of taking the tests or doing projects.
I always submit my second set of transcripts if asked

My cousin took about 6 years. Took the minimum number of hours to qualify for GI Bill benefits, played in a band, tended bar, slayed pussy, and graduated with a 4.0 in industrial engineering.

If I could go back to school I would do the 8 year plan. I would take time to find resort jobs around the world for a few months at a time. I think being more well rounded as a person is better than 4 years of job experience.

I took 6.5 consecutive years.
Plenty of people go to school for 7 years.
