You were making an argument that they should have enough profit within 6 weeks to completely double the scale of their existing company.
I think the other issue is it seems like these people spent a ton of money on "research" (traveling around the country just drinking coffee... and throwing it away)
So its tough to sympathize with people who have blown through part of their funding taking coffee vacations

How did the fire start?
The fire started in their generator. Oddly enough, I saw their truck pulling into their last stop Friday afternoon. The generator was running with a tarp covering it, and I thought to myself that doesn't seem like a good idea. Friday night I saw the trailer burned up. I hate to say, I told you so, but, why in the hell would you leave your generator running with tarp covering it while driving? That sounds like a recipe for disaster. And it was, apparently.

This is becoming the norm. People do insure themselves properly then beg to be bailed out when something goes bad. You saw a ton of it during the flood and in this case as well.

To cover that trailer and its contents would have been VERY cheap. A lot cheaper than having to rebuild from nothing.
Yeah, on their GoFundMe page they're saying how they staked everything on this and how important this is to them, that they have no Plan B. That's a poor decision to not fully insure what they said was so important to them.

Yea, they are pretty much asking people to pay for their truck and give them some money to live off of until they get back up and running

I was wondering why they left the cause of the fire out of their story
This is just plain incompetence, danger, and stupidity
They're lucky no one was hurt or worse
There's no way I would donate to these people. You might make a good cup of coffee but you can't light your only asset on fire after 6 weeks then blame fate and ask for money

No insurance, no care.
Not having insurance on their primary source of income makes zero sense.
What if they flipped their trailer on the highway? What if it got flooded? What if they ran a redlight and someone T-boned the trailer?
What if what if what if
idiots.

When you donate to help rebuild Small Coffee, you're not just helping "Some coffee shop" - You're helping to rebuild what might possibly become the greatest coffee establishment in the nation - Right here in Baton Rouge.
Am I going to be compensated for this?
Everyone who donates will get a free cup of espresso when they are back up and running, according to the owner's facebook.
Gonna donate a couple hundred bucks based upon this new information.

Best cup of espresso in all of North America, no less.

They look like a bunch of millennials that knew a hell of a lot about drinking coffee but not much else about life, i.e. getting insurance to cover your arse and not putting a plastic tarp on a generator that has an exhaust that will melt said tarp and cause a fire.
