A woman who bought a baby shower gift at a Florida Goodwill store was shocked when the father-to-be opened the box and found a loaded semi-automatic rifle inside.
She found a Baby Einstein’s bouncer that was unopened and appeared to be brand new for $9.99.
’’Goodwill has the best treasures for $9.99,” Alvarez-Rodriguez said." LINK

I thought that was a standard baby shower gift in Florida?

Read the article.... the responding cops' first action was to make sure the complainants weren't felons in possession of a firearm..
That's what this country has come to...picture the poor guy being hauled to jail for reporting the incident and because of something in his past he's in deep kimchi.

BINGO
God damn this article has everything. I am assuming the child involved is illegitimate, based on the other evidence available. Sort of how NASA can say a planet is there because of how the planet affects the other bodies in the region.

The responding officer initially allowed the father-to-be to keep the gun, which is a Mossberg 715T semi-automatic rifle. The next day police asked him to turn it over to the department.
Should have just kept their damn mouth shut.

I thought all childrens' toys in Florida included a loaded gun. Is that not correct?

They initially let the couple keep the gun. I assume they ran the check to be sure they weren't handing over the gun to a convicted felon.

Why? To railroad them? They didn’t knowingly possess anything but a stroller.
