It’s always someone else’s fault and no one is held accountable for their own actions anymore

And imagine this: It is only things like this that get reported. Do you know how many things do not get reported and swept under the rug due to the fact that schools receive "letter" grades in disciplinary action? i.e., drugs, fights, guns brought to school, weapons, etc.? The better the letter grade, the more money the school receives from the state. It is only the major things that get reported. In some instances, this would not even be considered a "major" thing. The public school system in Louisiana is every bit of a joke. Want to know how I know? This is year 29 for me.

White rednecks in poverty being bigoted is not why blacks are killing each other

A lot of the fights that happen at schools start on social media. Kids stay up all night antagonizing each other on social media and then fights break out at school the next day. If school staff suggest to parents that they monitor or restrict social media use, they act like they have just been asked to climb Mount Everest.

Parents.
Parents.
Parents.
That is 99% of the problem with the youth these days. Whether it be lack of parenting, lack of two parents, or just bad parenting, it starts in the home.

One of my students explained to me why they HAVE to fight at school. If they fight at their apartments, they can be ticketed or possibly evicted. If they fight at the nearby park, they could be arrested and ticketed. So the school is the only place where they can fight with no real consequences.

Rev Manning has great insight on this

That’s correct. Also, it’s (generally) much safer to fight at school. Kids know that there is going to be someone to break them up.
