Depending on the evidence against the former deputy, I wouldn’t be surprised if he attempted to provide public corruption information in exchange for leniency.

This whole thing is crazy. Both of these two people obviously have at least average intelligence, based on their jobs. Did they never stop to think that the chances of getting away with this were just about zero? Somewhere along the line, somebody that they shared it with was either going to be too dumb to keep it hidden or just pissed enough to share it with the authorities. Crazy that people of normal intelligence could be involved in this crap.

Yea - there's no way he'd be put on the main line. An ex-cop with rape and child pornography charges would be dead literally in 5 minutes in GP.
