I am thinking critically. Here is what you said.
You are assuming that the sheriffs and the state police will do their jobs and follow the law. That is a flawed assumption. I don't care who the inmate is. shite happens to prisoners in prisons across this state and nothing is done about it. It's not endemic but it is also not unheard of.

She has a 500,000 bond which means someone is going to have to come up with 50K in cash for the bail bondsman or have some property to put up worth 500K. She is probably going to be in jail for the foreseeable future.

These people are disgusting, but no one is perfect. You should join the force to correct it instead of blaming a very small percentage.

I used to be tangentially involved in prosecutions and restitution for these kinds of cases. "Amy" had a case go to the Supreme Court about her restitution rights.
