Drunk drivers should be imprisoned for a year for their first offense, and lose their driving privileges for a year after they’re released. A second offense should be a minimum of 10 years imprisonment and lifetime ban from driving. This is the way to put an end to this tragic loss of innocent lives. It’s an epidemic because people don’t have enough fear of the consequences.

I’m waiting to have the balls to do this after an LSU football game.

No, downvoted by those who realize that announcing where checkpoints are just puts the idiots who drink and drive on other roads, which increases the danger they cause.

Checkpoints are cool, but neither is drinking and driving.

This is stupid. 99% of first time offenders are productive members of society. If they are in jail for a year you are basically making more people become part of the welfare state.

Now second offenses… you might be on to something.

I’m pretty sure they did this about 10 years ago after the Bama game. Stirred up a bunch of shite in the legal community.

They could catch hundreds of drunk/high drivers with a checkpoint on plank rd every night but they dont do that. Wonder why

But they wouldn’t show up for court and can’t pay any fees/fines.

Them whitefolks with boat money now that’s a revenue stream

So they set up to catch those that can afford to pay fines and court costs? As opposed to areas where all those chargers congregate?

Has the LPSO ever set up a checkpoint that wasn't at that location near Fred"s?
