Are the vacations mission-oriented?

That's considered "mission work"?!

I hate these people and I don't even know them.

$50K in "an expensive city" with 2 kids isn't much money.

I was just guessing on the amount. I would say $50K would be the minimum, assuming that they don't pay taxes and they qualify for Medicaid/food stamps (if they don't have to report their donations as income then I'm guessing they would qualify for these services.)
They do go through a missionary organization, but they receive $0 from the organization. The way they explain it, they give all of their donations to the organization, and then receive the donations back as a stipend.

50k tax free is like, i dunno, 75k normal salary. I'd say those trips are doable

$50k cash will go a long way of you get subsidized housing, food stamps, welfare, Obamacare etc. they're not reporting those donations.

Something doesn't add up at all with either your story, or theirs.

When I said no job, I meant they do not punch a clock. They do not receive an actual paycheck. All of the money they receive from their organization is money that they have collected through donations.
They turn their donations into this company, this company gives the money back as a stipend. That's what they say when they ask for donations, because I was making a one-time gift and they asked me to consider a monthly gift because it makes it easier for them to budget.
Which I thought, why don't you just take the one-time gift and divide it out during the year?
So then I felt like they were just trying to get more money, and this whole thing started to sound a bit off to me.

That's why I posted. Wanted to know if anyone has ever heard of this.
It sounds strange to me.
I can't imagine that they know enough people to bring in all of this money or that this is sustainable, and yet, so far it is working for them.
I'm at work this morning and I see a post of them at the beach.

This reminds me of a bum that stopped me in a Walmart parking lot and asked for money. I gave him a few bucks then the son of a bitch had the nerve to ask me if I could give him more so he could buy what he needed. Made me want to snatch the money I gave him right out of his hand.

They could learn a thing or two from the mormons. Those kids start babysitting and mowing lawns when they're 12 to pay for their own mission. A lot of people assume the church pays for it but it's 100% out of pocket.

You do realize that mission work isn't "doing nothing" right?

Absolutely. I'm a Christian and I support people who do mission work.
But the people I donate to don't take expensive vacations all the time. One vacation per year is understandable, absolutely.
But one vacation every 3 months is a bit much.
There's something wrong when you're sitting there asking me for a monthly donation and telling me how delicious the food was in Europe or how relaxing a massage was in Aspen, or how you plan on having at least 4 kids.

In a 12 month time period, they went to Europe, on a ski trip, and a couple of beach trips...They must be bringing in at least $50k annually, I would think.
More than $50K. Way more.

I wouldn't give them a plugged nickel.
