Look, BR has terrible traffic. But people criticizing the traffic from Houston.....New Orleans
New Orleans traffic is not bad
Unless you mean people who live in Metairie and work in New Orleans, but that isn't New Orleans traffic, that's Metairie traffic. I get around the city pretty easily.

I'm strange for being a pervy weirdo. But I too love living in BR. Currently hoping to buy a house in Mid-City or at least within the City Limits if not within Incorporated BR.

Yeah....OK. I guess it all depends on how you define "bad". I get around the city of BR pretty easily. Depending upon how you define easily.

Read my post on page two... and I never used the word hate... just pointed out obvious reasons the city is going into the crapper...

Look up the top 100 largest American cities. Baton Rouge is top 10 worst to live in.

there is literally nothing of interest in Baton Rouge anymore.

What is your issue with Bama, other than the Gumps? From what I see and have heard, Huntsville has it going on. NASA, Polaris, the new Remington plant. I have friends with a place on Guntersville Lake, they love going up there.

New Orleans is crammed and full of crime. Love nola, would never live there.
Lafayette SUCKS - Bunch of white trash little brother wanna-be's in a town in need of some serious upgrades
Texas is nice and new and all but it feels nothing like Louisiana as far a culture goes. Our economy is pretty good. There is a reason 800,000 live in and around BR.
Most of North LA...
. Hunting is good but south LA FISHING and duck hunting laughs at north LA
Yes traffic sucks no disagreeing there.
I've lived elsewhere, Houston and Lake Charles, but I love BR. I love LSU. It is home for me and I wouldn't have it any other way.
Alxtgr - LOL at Ellic.......

It took me a solid 6 months living in the area to get what "You're so North Dallas" meant. IF this is where you're from, your post fits the pretentious fake bullshite people living there.
Not from here, moved here. Yeah, cleaner city, better roads, exponentially more good looking women, better night life and a better economy and job market really sucks the big one.

I'm sick of the Baton Rouge bashing on this site. It's played out.
I grew up around Alexandria and lived there for two years after graduation. Baton Rouge is a much better place to be. It's got better restaurants, better bars, more going on. At least you have a decent sized group of young professionals in Baton Rouge -- when I lived in Alexandria, I strictly hung out with co-workers. When I moved here, I made a lot of friends my age outside of work. You've got stuff like Forum 35, Red Stick Area Kickball, Happy's Running Club.
You've got Spanish Town Mardi Gras.
You've got the Red Stick Farmer's Market.
You've got the St. Patrick's Day Parade.
You've got Baton Rouge Blues Festival.
You've got Louie's hash browns.
You've got the Chimes and its beer selection.
You've got the Louisiana Book Festival.
You've got Tony's Seafood.
You've got LSU and all that entails
You've got Southern and all that entails.
You've got neighborhoods like Spanish Town, Beauregard Town, the Garden District, Capitol Heights, Ogden Park, Poets & Philosophers, Kenilworth, Southdowns, etc.
You've got a stable economy, because of state government, the universities, the chemical plants and the hospitals.

You don't have the economy of Texas
True but no where in Louisiana has the economy of Texas, it's Texas.
quote:
You don't have the hunting of north Louisiana
You talk as if North Louisiana is the far distance place one must travel great lengths to go to.
ETA: How is the fishing in North Louisiana? Where is the go to spot for specks?

Only thing you have is the traffic of hell
Quick name one major/mid major city that doesn't have traffic.

the local government of Jackson, MS.
That can be said about the entire state. Louisiana is the most politically corrupt place in America next to DC.
