you are a lawyer right? that would be my #2, after physics, because law school whole set up seems difficult as hell... having only one test per semester and shite... then being on probation or let go from the program if you are in the bottom whatever percentage of the class... yeah, frick that shite...
I remember our class had 236 students and ended up graduating 177. Might be different now.

That dude thinking electrical engineering is glorified electrician work but industrial or biological is REAL engineering...is just something so stupid it's impossible to even respond to.

Well I stopped reading after this. You can't be serious.

really? well, i know when i was in pharmacy school, the dude that lived in the apt. next to me was at Tulane Law and he was telling me how like the bottom 10% or some shite of the class would be basically let go, each semester, regardless of which year you were in.... i remember thinking, if i got to my 4th year of pharmacy school and ended up not doing good enough and landing in that 10% and they told me i was out of the program, it was gonna be some shite down at the pharmacy school that day.....
It may be that way at Tulane, I don't really know. At LSU we started with around 220 and finished somewhere between 180-190. We lost some people, but some where by choice (either just dropped out or transferred to another school) and some had to retake so many classes that they ended up falling behind a year. Very few were forced out. That might be a product of the times though. Law schools need as many students willing to pay tuition as they can get right now.
When I was in law school I remember the school was discussing a change to the grading policy in an attempt to raise the attrition rate.

No degree is all that impressive to me since they're all relative. There are plenty of people for whom engineering was easy but that basic core English class made them go crazy.
I picked a major that suited my strengths and my interests (creative writing) and while it was easy for me to get A's, few people in my classes sniffed that grade, and engineering and pre med friends of mine shivered at the prospect of writing 120 page novel or screenplay
For sure. Everyone has different strengths and weakness. I wouldn't encourage everyone to go waste money on a liberal arts degree, but I wouldn't say that NOBODY should either. Not everyone can be an engineer or a doctor. I sure as hell can't. You can't really fault someone for not attempting to get a degree in something they know they cannot handle.
Honestly, it really depends on whether you're worth a shite as a person in general. If you're a hard worker who networks and has value as an employee, something like my English degree will work out perfectly fine. It has worked out fine for me.
But if you're like a friend of mine and get a degree in something random like psychology (with no intentions on going back to school and/or practicing psychology) and you don't have previous jobs/any contacts or networking skills/etc., you just wasted a shite ton of money on a pointless degree. It all really is based on what you have to offer along with your degree when it comes to liberal arts degrees.

I'd throw DVM somewhere in there just not sure where.

I agree with the obvious ones: engineering, medicine, law but haven't seen a whole bunch of architecture mentions. Had a roommate that majored in this and he spent more time at school than I did in engineering.
THIS. Back in the day at Mississippi State, the lights never went off in the architecture building. Weekends, holidays, there were students in there. I spent many a night in the computer center, but not anywhere near what the architecture folks were doing.

The ones with social skills and common sense/problem solving skills usually move out of engineering and into management within 10 years

This. To piggy back, I would also add BSN. Shitty work for low pay.

Are you a chemistry grad? It doesn't seem like it fits with the others.

It's because we aren't as smart with the technical stuff as the Indians and Asians

My first year I made 73k , then got a 8% bump, this is not including the 6k bonus I'll get at the end of April.
