Gah damnit we were some stupid mother frickers 20+ years ago saying this shite. Liquor before beer is all good, the liquor coats your stomach so the beer can just settle in. Beer before liquor good luck to you!

And we swore by it as if it was in the bible itself!

It has no basis, but , if you start drinking beer then start getting into shots you are going to get fricked up as you are ramping it up. If you do liquor then beer you are actually slowing down. Science.

If you’re having an internal discussion about this it’s already to late.

Beer on whiskey, mighty risky.
Whiskey on beer, never fear.

Wine is fine, but liquor is quicker.

Sign at a bar - Liquor in the front, poker in the rear.

Most of the time it is true. Depends on the liquor though. Couple of bourbon drinks then switch to beer has rarely let me down. It is more for the women though. They’ll drink like 4 Michelob Ultras and get to feeling loose and start taking cheap vodka shots and all hell breaks loose in their stomach.

If it's yellow, let it mellow
If it's brown, drink it down!

I just drink liquor and never switch to beer or vice versa.

Stick with what you start is my motto.
