Definitely not a good school if you want to get into NYC biglaw like I do
Top 10% there has a decent shot. Fordham isn’t necessarily all that much better for Biglaw. I’d shoot for Columbia or NYC if you’re set on going to school up here.

I work 10 feet away from a Cooley grad who seems pretty competent and I'm in love with, so there's that. But, for real, if they're cutting half of the people out right away, it's probably not complete morons who are left over. I would rather have a personable Cooley grad for some types of work than an arrogant academic with no people skills.

you think they'd hire a good ol' roll tide baw that's top 5%?

Sure. I would think the only limitation is that it doesn’t place so many grads nationally, so they may wonder why you were coming up to NYC.
We need more people of your political persuasion up here.

I spent about a week in Brooklyn and Manhattan earlier this month - I could do it for a few years just for the food and nightlife, but I think I might kill myself dealing with traffic and winter.
I ate a fantastic veggie burger in the East Village with a women's studies professor before going to a Bama bar. Suprisingly, I got along pretty well with him. He doesn't know my power level, though.

Lol, Roger Williams is where my rich but dumb as rocks pothead friends from Connecticut all went. It was a running joke at our HS. Below the lowest of safety schools cor most kids, but great fun if your parents have $50k a year to blow.

Read Grisham's latest book The Rooster Bar. This sounds like the law school in his story.

The way I understand it, you can't even legally call yourself a "lawyer" unless you pass the bar.

It's a lot easier to get a scholly from Fordham than NYU, I would imagine.

That' assuming I can even get into NYU or Columbia lol. I'm also considering BC and BU in Mass. Only worried about drowning in liberal BS tbh.

Well, NYU costs a whopping $1000 more per year than Fordham.

That's if you're paying sticker. Getting into NYU and then getting a scholly from them is a whole different ballpark. Fordham is stingy with cash apparently, but NYU is a T13/14 school and they know it.

You'd take a personable Cooley grad over someone from Mich? From what I understand: Mich, UVA, and Berkeley are the holy trinity of public law schools in this country.

I got waitlisted for UVA and almost cried

Is UVA the kind of school that likes to play mind games? Forgot what it was, but I remember hearing of a T14 that sent acceptance letters to people they rejected. They probably had a panic attack.

No clue. I genuinely didn't think I was going to get in, anyway. I did very well on my LSAT but my undergrad GPA wasn't particularly stellar. I am happy being back in Alabama, other than all of these goddamn Yankees, Midwesterners, and Left Coasters that have invaded in the past several years.

Lol! I hear Bama, Tulane, and Emory is where all the T14/Ivy League rejects go.
But Bama Law is a great school, apparently the best public law school in the deep south. Congrats on that!

Question: can you get into a top law school with a below average GPA but high LSAT?
