Let’s talk Thomas Cooley Law School in Michigan

Southern Law School you’re off the hook tonight, narrowly.
Thomas Cooley is a law school where the primary application requirement is a pulse. The 25th percentile LSAT score is 138. Converted to a raw score that is typically 37 correct out of 101. More than a quarter of their student body has scored less than 40% on a test that is supposed to measure the critical thinking skills needed for a lawyer.
Is this concerning to anyone else? People are receiving law degrees with LSAT scores that show marginal literacy.

Sounds about like Austin, TX to me.

That's the kind of competition that I like.

I mean they get the law degree if they graduate but they still have to pass the bar to be able to get their license to practice and receive money for providing legal services under the title of Lawyer.

They only have a 40% bar passage rate, which is horrible. Typical bottom tier "practical" law school.

I just looked up this school. Figured it as a for profit degree mill. But is WMU’s law school?!?

Michigan had the potential to be great.
That auto industry failing the area dealt a hell of a blow.

40% passage rate = school is a scam and should be shut down

Honestly so dumb and so crazy to go to even pretty good law schools nowadays, I have no idea who would be idiot enough to go to a fourth tier hell like Cooley or Lolyola NO.

Can you buy 1000 billboards, and pay $5 million on TV ads and float a $7 million office expense?

You a 1L? May God have mercy on your soul. It's a great profession if you have a sense of humor.

TBH getting a J.D. is just to please my family so that they won't disown me, I don't really care about having a practice. I'm developing an interest in tax law; I'd love to help my wealthy friends cheat the shite out of their taxes.

The 2007 publication "Best Colleges for African Americans" listed Cooley as the third best law school for African Americans

People from these schools, unless they were just lazy and didn't prep for the LSAT, don't go on to pass the bar at high percentages.
