Great thread...brings back memories.

Was just going through some old chit in boxes a couple weeks ago and came up on an old 4-ch Soundstream amp I had back in my Jeep days.
Am hoping to have it checked out and if still good put it in the boat I have ordered or maybe even make a beach blaster cooler/soundsystem. Buddy of mine made one with old Alpine/Pioneer stuff that is an absolute blast to crank on those sunny Gulf beaches.

Oh...and having heard a few newer systems just a couple years ago I am a BIG fan of the Focal car audio stuff. Exactly what you need, paired with a solid amp and 8-10" JL sub. Will have them gals at the assisted living homes getting their Depends wet when you cruise by cranking some Sinatra.

Love this thread.
Once had 2-15s and a 12. (Kicker then Savard Raps) in a Mazda full sleeper. Alpine h.u. / Orion 225 red series/ Punch 45 on the highs. I’d ride by and “wave” up the TVs. Was called a nerd by the others that eventually drugged out Kinda sad looking back

It’s hard to decipher old school vs new equipment In regards to what “true” watts are compared to new technology.

I have a soundstream amp that has been through 4 vehicles hidden in the dash of the rzr.

Runs 4 JBL marine 8s and pushes the shite out of them.

If you want to build a kick arse radio, search for them on eBay. You can get 4 for less than the price of one by buying an installers box vs standard retail packaging.

Some auto manufacturers have released restomod head units, for their older vehicles. They offer modern features, like Bluetooth, while keeping the factory look.

And you can often fine aftermarket companies that upgrade or modify stock head units.

This was my first car, had two JL 12" subs in the back. I loved the shite out of that car.
