I also want to mention that pet peeve of mine:

If you witness significant weather happening and film it or get pics, don't just Tweet it at James Spann. That's especially true if you're in Louisiana or Arkansas or fricking Nebraska. You can @ Spann, but please include your local WFO office (it will be @NWS(your closest city) and your local on-air mets.

Spann is great, but others are more important at that point in time. Include him if you want, but don't forget the others.

agreed - I love Spann, and he is an amazing presence on TV - but there are more important entities that need to know as well.

Yeah, I always tweet weather related pictures, videos or reports to NWS Birmingham, Spann, and then Wes Wyatt the Chief Met at WBRC Fox 6 in Birmingham.

I don’t know. When we get some of these lines passing through DFW, there is usually actions taking place all over. I could die in a tornado waiting for them to switch from coverage of one cell over the another.

I'm not saying don't follow here, just that it may not be the best idea for everyone to have us as their primary way to get warnings and such when things are going off everywhere.

HRRR with a good handle on surface temps and dew points. NAM is pretty good, especially on the southern extent but a little too cool in north MS at this point.

Not liking the look of those discrete cells popping up ahead of the main line down here in SELA. I have a feeling somebody is going to get smacked, hopefully nothing too strong like we saw last week.

I just hate to see someone in Idaho get a tornado on video and only tweet it to Spann. Sure, if he's available he will retweet it to the proper people/entities, but that just gums up the works.

We, and others, may miss something, particularly when we are radar watching all over.

But the good thing with what y'all are doing here is telling us what is heading our way in real time. You don't get that with the local mets. They'll only start reporting when it gets closer to their market. I like to know how conditions are changing ahead of the weather approaching. I appreciate what y'all are doing.

It’s fascinating how tight some of these contours are getting on updated runs.

April 5 2011 is the better analog if you want an April 2011 comparison.

ETA: If any event looks similar to 4/27, you're gonna see me a lot more freaked out. Advice like just start digging a basement and get some kevlar would be flowing.

April 15, 2011 was pretty bad day tbat has been forgotten

Duke….if you can remember, how does the setup today compare to the Alabama outbreak that produced that infamous tornado in Tuscaloosa?

Oh this aint that.

I'm checking the OT thread. It's a great aggregator.

If I'm taking direct fire my phone will start screeching.

Underrated, IMO. Came out of the Tuscaloosa station, where Richard Scott is now. I think Scott has potential, too.
