Are you familiar with Pittsburghese? It’s like an entirely different language.

Am I familiar with it ? Yeah my Dad is from Pittsburgh- Born and raised. The whole paternal side is doing that Pennsylvania Dutch thing . It is hilarious and in bleeds over into all the neighboring states and makes them worse too. I have been there and sawl it myself every Summer as a kid.

Now this I have heard and I agree, its nails on a chalkboard.

Biggest thing I hear from people from Southern OH is pronouncing "since" and "sense" the same.

Also LOL at the person who claims people from Ohio sing in lines.

My family moved from LA to SW OH when I was 14.

When the boys in my neighborhood tired of making fun of my southern accent they asked me if I wanted to “go feeshing down on the crick”.

Also, “Meechigan”

Ohio has a mix of four/five different regional accents. Thats more than most other states. There was an article years ago that had a map that showed accents by region across the nation, but I could not track it down. Instead here is a map of how people pronounce crayfish...

I've lived in Ohio for most of the last 15 years and have never once heard this

I have heard this many times and people don't realize how stupid it makes them sound

Amherst is pretty nice. I live about an hour or so south towards Akron. I had an interesting drinking experience up there one night about two years ago.

Another bad attempt at hating on the state of Ohio. I have lived here and never...ever... heard anybody say "Sawl". If Ohio is so bad, why does it have the fastest growing city in all the Midwest? Columbus, Ohio is the best kept secret in the country. Ohio is also the 7th most populated state in the country so the state must be doing something right! But hey, keep up the failing attempts at bashing Ohio.

If we are going to play this game, we could ponder for the rest of our lives why the South pronounces certain words the way they do.

Spending a night out on High St in Columbus should be on everyone's bucket list. That city is a blast.

That reminds me-another thing about people from Ohio is they can be defensive and insecure if anybody mentions something about Ohio they disagree with.
