While you’re at it, get to the bottom of why people from England add the letter r onto the end of words that end in an a. It’s nails on a chalkboard to me.

You do know that Ohio is at the border of several different regions and thus is not home to any one particular accent?

And while we're at that, why do certain people put an s at the end of almost every word?

It seems they do it especially often with store names.

Gummo Youtube trailer

Storyline

Constructing this film through random scenes, director Harmony Korine abruptly jettisoned any sort of narrative plot, so here we go: Solomon and Tummler are two bored teenage boys who live in Xenia, Ohio. A few years ago, a tornado swept through it, destroying more than half the town and killing the same amount, including Solomon's father. The film, from there, chronicles the anti-social adventures these two boys have. These include sniffing glue, killing cats, having sex, riding dirtbikes, listening to black metal, and meeting a cavalcade of quirky, bizarre, and scary people. These include a man who pimps his mentally ill wife to our anti-heroes, three sisters who play with their cat and practice becoming strippers, a black midget fending off the sexual advances of a troubled man (played by the director Harmony Korine), a 12-year-old gay transvestite who is also a cat killer, Solomon's mother who seems to be the only glimpse of sanity, two foul-mouthed six-year olds, and most ...

ITT: I've only interacted with 1 person from Ohio and noticed a random quirk so I'll generalize an entire population.

You won't find me defending Ohio much, but I did have a great fountain pop today at the local Speedway. That large Diet Dew brought me back to life.

I’ve interacted with Les Miles and I assure you it’s a lot more than a “ random quirk”.

re: Let us briefly ponder why people from Ohio pronounce the word "saw"-Sawl
Why is it that when a group of Ohioans are waiting in line for something they start singing songs together? I saw it at Mardi Gras and Williamsburg. Subsequently, when I was at disneyworld waiting in a line a group of six people started singing in the line ahead of us. I told my wife they were from Ohio. Of course she said I was full of shit, so I asked them. Sure enough they were from Ohio.
