No just trying to lighten the mood i guess. To be fair, she is actually a little blurry so may not be as good looking as i think. Seriously though, i am comfortable with her knowledge and trusting her diagnosis.

Just pickin at ya... Good on you for leaning on some humor and I do hope you can hang on to it throughout this ordeal! Levity and laughter really are the best medicine.

I have no help for you, but hope you can find an answer to help you with your sight. 40 is way too young to be legally blind.

you shouldn't look at or feel that way. it is not a willful choice you are making, it is being unfairly being placed on your shoulders.

I appreciate you baws giving words of encouragement. I am trying to stay positive but is getting tough just not knowing what to do. My wife has started the ss disability process but that has been a tough one for me to accept

I can only imagine - my sight is getting worse, and I have vision dead zones in each eye, that I fear will only get worse.

stay positive man - you are strong and can adapt, it won't be easy - but you will get there man.

You will learn to deal with it. It first started happening to me when I was 18. 22 years later and I'm still plowing along. Just get out there and learn how to adjust to it.

Okay, this is in New York, but the president of this association would be more than helpful in pointing to you in the right direction. He would probably be willing to call you and talk at length about dealing with blindness. Please, at least contact this man. He is a super nice guy.

He is a diehard, born and raised, lifelong Bama fan. He is part of what they call the 'Cane Gang'. They alll use white-tipped canes.

I have mild glaucoma and am under constant therapy to try and make sure that no further damage to the optic nerve occurs. The damage that is already done is unfortunately irreversible

I am a diabetic and honestly figured diabetes was the cause but 3 specialist have confirmed that my retinas show no sign of diabetic retinopathy. The current dr is genetic testing me for LHON. Unfortunately there is little to do as far as treatment

Sorry to hear that. As a person who has gone through cataract surgery in both eyes and detached retina in one, I share your concerns/worries about what lies ahead for eyesight. Hope you can find the right Doc to figure out a solution.

I just spoke with him through texts. Ironically, he was at the eye doctor.

Definitely contact him.

You shouldn't. It has nothing to do with your work ethic. You need to find out what is causing it. And then make your plans accordingly. I'd give myself at least two months to process this. You may need medical attention. And you likely will qualify for disability.
