I was thinking about drinking some of that Gatorade sugar free before bed

I get the 12-pack at Kroger and drink one every day. As we get older it’s more difficult for our bodies to get the electrolytes our muscles need for smooth operation.

I use to think it was potassium, then I discovered amagnesium pill was all I needed.

Magnesium is great for a lot of things but you will never get a cramp again if you take it.

I do take a magnesium pill, but it hasn't prevented them for me.

Walgreens has a homeopathic product named Leg Cramps that my husband swears by. He says relief is instantaneous. Hope it helps.

I've heard that adding more magnesium to your diet helps.

This. By chance, I had a cramp during a physical in my PCP's office. After discussing leg cramps, he prescribed 400 mg magnesium oxide daily. Leg cramps went from very common to rarely.

(I've never had the prescription refilled. The same 400 mg magnesium oxide is av available OTC in a lot of compounds.)

I take Keto IV capsules daily and use the liquid dropper version during long tennis matches. I play tennis outdoors 5 days a week in Texas heat and all leg cramps are gone since I began using this product. Solid dose of potassium, magnesium and other electrolytes. You can order on Amazon.

Not sure what magnesium tablets you are using, but my doctor suggested magnesium gluconate because of its better solubility.

How old are you.
Have you checked blood sugar?
Blood Pressure?
Are you doing a lot of aerobic exercise?

Chronic leg cramps can be an early sign of an upcoming BP issue. A lot of people who suffer with hypertension have trouble maintaining potassium levels. The draining of potassium can cause the leg cramps. If you work out, no big deal. But if it is happening over and over again and you are not sweating it out,, I would check out the blood sugar and blood pressure angles

#1 start drinking LMNT every day. this is calorie free and will get you pretty much everything you need electrolyte wise if that is the issue and it taste good.

#2 clean up your fricking diet and start walking a ton

#3 horse chestnut and venous optimizer will help if its actually a circulation problem.

#4 start lifting weights. if you are and on anabolics....get off of them.

Late 50's.
Not since last year
BP typically is high. Take meds for it.
Aerobic exercise no. I do walk a ton, up and down steps regularly. I don't take elevators if I can avoid it. I have a bad knee, so I'm trying to keep it as limber as I can.

I will confirm with Doc next week about blood sugar.
