Going to church is insane. Especially if forced to be there. Definitely leaving after communion.

Gotta stay for the blessing. But it's fine to bail during the closing hymn.

Does the Catholic Church not have nurseries? Most Baptist churches I've been to have nurseries for babies and toddlers. Really about 5-6 and under are supervised outside of the sanctuary.

Yeah it’s shocking how low attendance is now except for Christmas and Easter. And the people that do go weekly are mostly older.

Depends on where you live. We attend a large church that even has a full parking lot for noon weekday masses during lent.

As to the OP, I’ve left a handful of times after communion during a weekday mass because I needed to get back to work. I stay for the full duration on Sundays or Holy Days.

I wouldn’t say that. Most people who attend for holidays I believe are good folks it’s just not a priority in their life at the moment.

I’m guilty of being a little upset when people who never go show up and mess up my routine but that’s me being selfish.

We should be happy more people show up during holidays honestly. It shows they at least acknowledge.

We need more soldiers for the upcoming events.

We had a priest call this "Jesus to Go".

We never leave early. Getting the Blessing at the end of mass from Father is an important part of mass.

Ours has a nursery, but they will text you if your child won’t stop being fussy, which defeats the purpose, IMO

Trashy or no? What are the OT’s thoughts?

If you attend, you should stay for the entirety. IMO.

I try not to ever leave but sometimes we are out of town and going to mass between events
yes It is not something I like because i feel the rushing defeats the purpose of keeping holy the sabbath in some ways but if its going to be, hey we can skip or we can go & leave immediately after communion then we are going and I dont care if some want to judge and think I am trashy for it.

I will say you are not really missing anything, i just feel like rushing away is not a good thing an I dont like doing it. but there are times we must.

and I know there will be posters in here that will judge and say...you need to not schedule things on a sunday and thats fine. I will pray for their judgmental asses

you are piece of shite and should not call yourself a catholic. those kids are the whole future of the catholic church.

should they take them to the cry room? yes but you should also stop being a little crybaby bitch too.

Sounds like alot of people are at mass for all the wrong reasons. It’s not about time. It’s not about beating traffic. It’s not about restless children. It’s not about those who show up twice a year.

It should be about belief in who He says He is. And if you are at mass because you believe that, then you can take the time to get on your knees and be thankful for the gift you just received.

Everything thing else is just justification for going through the motions.

Do they think that those that attend regularly can’t see right through the charade?

why are so many on here such judgmental pricks when it comes to church?

im going to pray for all of you who feel somehow you are better than those that only attend on holidays and those that feel like they are being inconvenienced and feel they have more a right to the church than others

if this thread is any way how many of you act towards new people at the church than no wonder people are no longer attending.
