Sounded like the engines were at full power or close to it. You can hear them in some of the videos.

Yeah, relatively speaking
This does nothing to question the safety of commercial air travel like DCA did, which is what I was replying to.
Sucks it happened. It’s a pretty horrific scene.

He likely isn’t a pilot. He is likely the nurse or EMT for the flight.
Maybe not a good one.

If tweet fails to load, click here. Descent rate of 11,000 feet per minute ot 125 mph is pretty fast, isn't it? I wonder what the cause of the descent was?

Makes me wonder if this wasn’t a medical emergency and the guy passed out on the stick or something.

Can’t imagine wanting to film that. I’ve done 30 years in fire/ems, I’ve seen it all, can’t imagine filming it and sharing that kind of stuff though

These outfits usually have pretty terrible safety records due to cost cutting, poor maintenance, overworked employees, and a horrible work culture. Survival Flight is a medical flight company that had a crash in 2019.

I don't like his message all that much, but he has the right to shite on Trump just like you have the right to shite on Biden.
It's anti-American to wish otherwise.

But this site caters to the right. Mods don’t care about free speech.

Serious question. What would make a plane just fall out of the air full speed like that? Cuz the speed of that thing had me originally thinking this was a suicidal pilot.
Option 1: Could have been an engine failure after take off… they have the other at max power climbing out on one engine. We train for it, it’s called a V1 cut. Lears and the wing being more like a fighter jets than commercial aircraft when you get slow and stall the aircraft have a tendency to snap roll harder which leads to the dive. Engines still roaring cause yea the one was at full blast trying to climb and given the holy shite moment pilots never pulled it back….
Option 2: given the weather in Philly, not sure how the anti ice works on the Lear 55 but I know from flying the 45 your suppose to have it on for 2 mins before takeoff to make sure the leading edges of the wing, tail, and tail fins are hot enough to make sure you don’t accumulate ice. If the tail of the plane ices up and loses its aerodynamic qualities you end up very easily can end up in that dive
