This guy likes going to the DMV and taking a number waiting 5 hours, getting called and having a flag on his license. Having to call the main DMV office to get the flag cleared but they can't tell him what the flag is for. Having to call back to speak to someone else then having to go to the vehicle dealership to get a document. Find a fax machine to send documents. Nobody at DMV can find the fax so call back then find someone to finally email the document to. Flag might be cleared maybe.
Go back to step 1.
Yea the DMV sucks but what's the alternative? Some shitty staffing company doing the same job?

I just hate the discourse behind natural disasters.
unfortunately theres blue check Twitter accounts accusing the government of deliberately causing disasters and accidents, like steering Hurricanes and storm storms towards North Carolina. Or accusing the government of delibrately killing people via Coronavirus.
The victims dont matter, the training doesnt matter, just their conspiracy theories

Thib’s Title. New drivers license in less than five minutes. Locations around Lafayette.
Sure there are other similar companies elsewhere. Competent people and convenient locations. It’s really not that hard to be much better than the dmv.

it was on fire
Don’t think it was on fire prior to crashing. Looks like it is just the plane’s lights coming through the low clouds.

No, you deregulate the bureaucracy.
But then you have people like you that crave regulation apparently. So we end up with shitty government services.

In the 1% chance that you're not trolling: yes, obviously. As previously mentioned, there are private companies that can do a lot of the things that the DMV does. You pay an extra $10-20, but the wait times are pretty much non-existent. Would you rather spend 3 hours at the DMV and spend $20 for a renewed drivers license, or spend 20 minutes at a private place and spend $30 on the license?

These outfits usually have pretty terrible safety records due to cost cutting, poor maintenance, overworked employees, and a horrible work culture. Survival Flight is a medical flight company that had a crash in 2019.

I'm guessing it'll end up being something related to a bad safety and work culture and cost cutting at the company.
The company involved in the crash yesterday, Jet Rescue, had a fatal crash in Mexico in 2023.

The company previously experienced a fatal crash in 2023 in Mexico where five crew members were lost, Gold said.
The crew was Mexican.

Looks like a shoddy hatchet job Mexican operation. These plane crashes are usually pretty easy to piece together.
Love when figs hate on a post when they have no knowledge on the topic they’re reading about.

just based on the angle and speed, that looks like a stall due to......?
any number of things.
engine failure should not result in that kind of descent, unless the pilot messed up

Is that guy the luckiest or unluckiest guy on earth? The chances of getting hit by part of an airplane while at a diner are about as close to zero as possible but two inches lower and he might’ve blind or dead.

The hat saved him. I'm not even joking.

Nothing about this crash looks like a stall. Planes that stall on takeoff tend to veer or tumble into the ground. This jet had plenty of forward air speed, well above stall speed.
