So they can't force you to wear PPE?

Yes. OSHA has some surprising rules about N95 mask though. From what I can read is if it's voluntary you don't have to have a fit test or medical clearance. If it is mandatory you are required to have training, then a med clearance, and then a fit test. The med clearance is a form submitted online and only about 2% of applicants require an actual doctors visit to pass. You can sign up and get the med clearance through the 3M site. The cost is $29 for the med clearance.

And yes, this is for N95 mask which was a bit of a surprise for me until I looked into it.

That’s going to be news to a whole lot of plants that require people to wear masks or respirators.

They have relaxed the standard on the N95 through the pandemic to basically volunteer. And that is if you can even find one. It will be awhile before they begin to saturate the market again.

Don't be an idiot. Of course they can. Don't like it? Find a job where you don't have to wear one.

I disagree.

Wear your fricking mask like you were told or go find another like-minded idiot to work for.

Employers make rules. It is not about what they can and can’t do.
It is your choice to 1) follow the rules and stay employed or 2) disobey the rule and the employer does not allow you to continue working.
Everything in life is about choices.
Play your hand and live with either the benefit or consequences of YOUR choice.

If an employee catches COVID in the workplace it’s a recordable, no? If an employer can be held accountable for transmission of a virus, they can mandate measures to reduce transmission.

I'm not a fricking idiot I know different jobs mandate PPE.

Circumstances change. PPE requirements change all the time. It sounds like you want the answer to be “no” and are mad because people are telling you otherwise.

The question was answered.

Do what you're told or find a new job. Those are your choices.

Ive been out all day the last two days and went to a handful of stores earlier in the week.

I havent seen a single person not wearing a mask. Besides people driving in their vehicle alone.
