None of that deserves getting your face held in fire ants. That's borderline torture. frick those cops and frick you for defending that behavior.
So you are assuming the cops intentionally put her face in fire ants? Because that’s what it seems like your stance is.
If the ants were a byproduct of her arrest that’s a different story. I’m not sure why they arrested her. Or why she got out of the car screaming. But this stands out to me:
quote:
Rogers said she didn't stop because she was scared after the officer pounded on her vehicle and pointed a gun at her. She said she didn't know what to do because her son was in the car.
Pointed a gun at her? For what?
My main question is why they couldn’t they help her get the ants off once she was cuffed? Or stand her up and swat them off and then cuff her. Seems like there are different things they could’ve done to help her. She clearly wasn’t a threat anymore. It’s not like she was an armed, grown man fighting back.
The cop’s statement that it was about 13 seconds from when she first mentioned the ants to her being helped seems wrong. Hard to tell from the edited video though.
I do believe that she wasn’t intentionally put into the ants. If she was then that’s an entirely different story IMO.

Was she held purposely faced down in ants that were known to be there?
I certainly hope not
quote:
Or does that even matter?
Yes it definitely matters
quote:
If someone who validly required to be arrested including being placed on ground to cuff due to fleeing or freaking out was accidentally placed on top of unseen ants below the grass level does that change your contention that the cops need to be arrested?
Yes that definitely changes my contention. Its hard to look at those pictures of literally hundreds of ant bites covering her head and upper torso and believe that it was an accident. Not to mention her yelling about the ants. She had to have been covered in them. So your point is valid that maybe the ant bed was not visible and maybe they didn't hold her face down in the ant bed and if that's true then no, the cop should not be arrested.
But they damn sure let her stay there and get eaten alive by the ants. So my original thought remains valid: frick that cop

Yuck. No pics of her without all the bites?

There are some psychos in this thread

Cop should have the same done to him. What a frickin pussy

That's her on the left. Militant brother makes me laugh.

Not excusing the ant bites, but they really should teach a class to all high schoolers about remaining calm if you deal with police. Before she even got out of the car she was screeching. I’m guessing she panicked and that’s why she was acting crazy. That said, i’ve been pulled over for a seatbelt violation (and i actually did have my seatbelt on) and the cop was so belligerent he looked like he had drank 3 preworkouts and snorted a line of coke before stopping me. The cops need classes on remaining calm, too.

I’d bet $1000 without looking into any of this that there is more to the story. The same “parents” do dumb crap constantly all year long in that pick up line. To include but not limited to: blaring loud rap music, giving teachers crap when their kid ran off out the line, cutting line, smoking weed, (billowing out the vehicle),
While annoying. Not illegal. With the exception of weed but I also don’t believe for a second cars are pulling up with weed “billowing out of the vehicle” as you put it.
quote:
so I’d betcha she was a known offender
Offender of what? Potentially being annoying?
quote:
They were probably waiting on a great opportunity to throw her in the fire ants
Suggesting anyone is planning torture because they annoy you? You’re a moron aren’t you?
quote:
Good chance yall would applaud what happened given all the details
Ohhhh you are a moron.

Hang the fricking cops. Sick torturous animals.

quote:This is completely wrong. That number of stings seems too indicate that a reasonable standard of care was not given to this woman - which is the legally required standard.
If you happen to land on a pile of ants, that's not the police fault.
I figure that she will collect on this case.
I just wonder why they did not make some efforts to see that she was not harmed.

These are the cops that give cops a bad name

I bet she never backs up in a car pickup line again.
And I bet the cop never holds someone face down in a pile of ants, then waits an ordinate amount of time before offering or calling for some sort of medical attention

She deserves every penny of a lawsuit. Jesus
quote:
Apparently, she was arrested after being told by an officer that she can’t make a turn in the school pick up line and she began to reverse her car in the pick up line
You defending an entitled bitch who doesnt think the rules apply to her?

Popping blisters left by ant bites is pretty fun.

She looks pretty cute without the ant bites

Why is her brother doing his best Rastaman?

It's not the girl in the pink.

Posted on 6/17/25 at 7:22 pm to LSUTANGERINE
Was it confirmed that the ants were red?
Posted on 6/17/25 at 7:29 pm to LSUtoBOOT
She's lucky she wasn't allergic to those ants. I doubt that the cops would have thought to rush her to a hospital as her throat swelled shut from reactions. Yes, fire ant bites are lethal for some people and babies abandoned have been found dead from the bites.

I do have concerns on how quickly and properly the cops helped with the ant situation
And you know proper Step 1 if a person is getting eaten by ants? You’d take off her shirt! There’s another lawsuit.
