this is enough reason to fire the officer. Unless she was some entitled Karen who blatantly endangered the cop or students, why arrest her?

But the uniform says city. Was one from the ISD and one from the city, or is this like how people kept mixing the Uvalde ISD police with the city Uvalde police?

I’d bet $1000 without looking into any of this that there is more to the story. The same “parents” do dumb crap constantly all year long in that pick up line. To include but not limited to: blaring loud rap music, giving teachers crap when their kid ran off out the line, cutting line, smoking weed, (billowing out the vehicle), so I’d betcha she was a known offender. They were probably waiting on a great opportunity to throw her in the fire ants. Good chance yall would applaud what happened given all the details
The world would be a better place without people like you that's for sure

about the same cop that arrested scottie sheffler before the tourney last year for doing nothing wrong

If cop’s version of arrest is remotely true there does appear to be valid reasons for arresting her. She could have put school kids in danger including her own in her car. She allegedly didn’t know what to do because kid was in car so she just fled from the police with her kid in the car…
I don’t know if you really can’t see the ant bed in the cops video, but they might not have known about the ants when they placed her there to cuff while she freaked out about arrest. After she mentions it and they picked her up they should have done something to help. Maybe they did as cop says they are just showing a partial clip to keep suit going, but even if she created situation requiring to be placed on ground and ants were not visible beforehand I don’t know if they did enough or how much she was already bitten when cops started to help.

Santa Fe ISD Police Chief Ruben Espinoza said he stopped Rogers that day because she tried to make an illegal turn into the school parking lot. Espinoza said Rogers became irate, ignored him and drove toward the back parking lot. He said another officer tried to stop her.
"When she [the officer] gave the description of the vehicle, I immediately knew who it was. So, I approached the intersection and observed Miss Rogers fleeing," Espinoza said. "She was also passing a vehicle in the grassy area on the right side when I tried to get in front of her to stop. She didn’t put her vehicle in reverse and fled from me.”
Rogers said she didn't stop because she was scared after the officer pounded on her vehicle and pointed a gun at her. She said she didn't know what to do because her son was in the car.
That's when Espinoza said he used his car to stop Rogers and SFPD officers pulled her from the vehicle and placed her in cuffs.
The police chief shared images of Rogers' arrest, saying no fire ant beds were visible.
He said the body camera video shared by Kallinen is misleading and Rogers was treated with "respect and dignity."
"They stopped the clip that they provided to you. The officer says, 'Calm down and we will lift you up,'" Espinoza said. "At that point, she said, 'OK I will calm down,' and they lifted her up immediately."
According to Espinoza, Rogers later pleaded guilty to the charges associated with fleeing from police. Kallinen said she was sentenced to deferred adjudication.

None of that deserves getting your face held in fire ants. That's borderline torture. frick those cops and frick you for defending that behavior. I hope this lady gets millions and I hope the cop loses his job. He should be arrested for doing that.
Eta: I don't know how anyone can look at those pictures of her with hundreds of ant bites covering her head and upper torso and think "she probably deserved it" over a traffic violation. Good thing she didn't have an allergic reaction.

I’ve arrested hundreds of people and can say this is outrageous brutality. Hope she wins a massive amount of money. That’s just ridiculous. What kind of sick A-hole would do this to a person.

Was she held purposely faced down in ants that were known to be there?
Or does that even matter?
If someone who validly required to be arrested including being placed on ground to cuff due to fleeing or freaking out was accidentally placed on top of unseen ants below the grass level does that change your contention that the cops need to be arrested?
In a school zone she ignored cop, fled, continued driving dangerously relative to being in a school zone including passing another car by going onto the grass, ignored cop and fled again before cop stopped her car using his car. Her excuse is that she didn’t know what to do with her kid in the car so fleeing seemed like best option for her kid (and for other kids). Also, according to the cops the ant bed cannot be seen in the cop’s video, so initially placing her there might have been done without knowing ants were present.
I do have concerns on how quickly and properly the cops helped with the ant situation due to mixing together her continuing to freak out about arrest and her freaking out about ants starting to crawl over her face, but I am not quite yet ready to canonize her as the white female version of George Floyd minus the fentanyl overdose.

I bet she never backs up in a car pickup line again.

If you get tackled and the handcuffs come out. If you happen to land on a pile of ants, that's not the police fault. Don't have an attitude and resist and this wouldn't have happened.
Jesus Christ you fricking psychos. It’s one thing if he tackled her and that’s where she happened to land but when she started getting bit any civilized person would pick her up and move her a few feet.

I’ll garantee that a lot took place that the news story is not telling us. No one gets arrested simply because she is in thr wrong lane when picking her child up from school.

For one, if she threw it in reverse and it was a danger to the public.
