I love when people create an account just to ask a random question.

Saw a post on Nextdoor earlier this morning that cops & coroner were out there at something like 2:30 this morning. No other info. I initially thought another old person died, but if they are still out there, there has to be more to the story.

A teenager was found shot to death in the Southdowns neighborhood early Thursday morning, sources told the WBRZ Investigative Unit.

Sources said that a teen's body was found in the middle of Poplar Street near Lee Drive around 2 a.m. People in the area assumed the person had been hit by a car, but the teen had been shot and killed.

Sources said family members of the victim woke up Thursday and could not find the teen, sparking a search for a missing child.

Sources told WBRZ that Baton Rouge Police officers are investigating

my guess is a teen that won't really surprise us....there is a certain "majority" of teens that are very rarely killed in BR

Checks out that BRPD could somehow take 3.5 hours to find a body in the middle of the road.

Not sure if it still is, but it was a common phenomenon in BR for a long time where they would drop the body in the road hours later after police came and checked the area due to gunshots
