Approximately 7,000 are on site

In addition to the damage, there are significant access issues due to public sight-seeing

I would guess that they need to assess fully where people can actually go back and live sooner rather than later.
and Vermilion parish is listed as 10% assessed — were ALWAYS the last ones with restoration and ours came on last night less than 48 hours after it went out. I was ready to ride it out for a good week but am very grateful.

I’d want to see as much as the next person but wouldn’t ever want to block restoration efforts. Go to your spot, work and then go. I’m sure easier said than done but still.

I just looked it up. No, they’re on JDEC.

Damn, they haven’t even started assessing Cameron Parish?

Ok
Haven't seen updates from Beauregard Electric beyond "we're working on it"
Wish they'd break it down like Entergy. My whole family and a few employees are on Beauregard.

If people heading into LC are still looking for gas cans, Autozone on Pinhook in Lafayette still has plenty.

Bricks are a few inches from the wall and only held on by brick ties which are metal strips nailed to the wall then covered in mortar at the brick. A brick wall runs into nothing at the top and is hidden by the soffit. That is it. People that don't know any better think it adds structural integrity. It's just a veneer
Count me as one of those people. Now I know.

residential face brick is non structural offering only impact resistance as storm protection
if residential exterior walls were structural brick masonry you’d not need the stud framing at all
none of that implies that face brick is inferior to any other exterior finish with regard to wind damage though

Delivering gas and supplies to Sulphur tomorrow. Can anyone tell me the best route to take?
Looking at a map, I was thinking taking 190 all the way and drop south on 27 to avoid I10.. But I dont know what the roads look like etc...
Thanks in advance.

Is there a reason for avoiding I-10? There are crews working on some of those backroads and older highways. You’re out of their way if you’re on I-10.

My brother said he thinks he just saw Air Force 1 land at Chennault.

I’m heading down there tomorrow as well to bring gas and food for some family and tree crews. I plan to take I-10 from NOLA the whole way.

We left at 7:45 AM from Baton Rouge. We arrived at 10:30AM.
I-10 all way through.

This.
And run your generators outside. Though I don't think that'll be a problem for any of y'all in this thread.
