Yeah. It was Mark Sudduth with hurricanetrack.com
They saw the telephone pole that it had been left on down in the flyover video from Cameron.

Well hopefully they get it.
Other question out of curiosity: people are applying for and. Wing denied for FEMA assistance because they have insurance. Is that how this works?? Insurance won’t pay for them to live elsewhere — or at least not all insurances will.

We were denied for having insurance even though we were denied under our renters policy. Apparently yet again even in a disaster the government favors the poor.

When did you file? I’m reading some filed before the area was declared officially —asl reading for people to appeal.
Man every bit of this sucks.

Just got off phone with dad. An 80 year old friend of ours and his wife were killed last night in Iowa by a home intruder. He was a retired crop duster. WTF??

Drove from Houston to Hackberry today to bring gas and supplies. Total destruction is the only word that even comes close to describing what I saw on Hwy 27 between I-10 and here. Amazingly have 4G. The wind absolutely shredded everything.

Same here. Brought generator, gas cans and supplies to carlyss today. Unbelievable damage. Nearly every single home is damaged. My sisters house in moss bluff is a total loss.
Heartbreaking and the media is just ignoring it. That pisses me off.

I’ve been here for two days just helping whoever I can because my house did fairly well (minor damage that money can fix, no water in my house). It is very difficult to see what has happened to my community. Buildings have been just shredded all over the place. I remember coming back from Rita and it being bad, but Rita didn’t pull the roof off of places like a can opener. It’s unreal.

If it wasn’t for this thread and reading personal experiences of those of y’all who live there, I wouldn’t know it was near as bad as it is
I have a couple Facebook friends that live in sulphur. Other than that, no one is really talking about it. Heartbreaking

WTF is right. In so many ways. I’m so sorry to hear that.

I filed because of the increased commute for my wife since the home isn’t habitable- no power, electric or hvac.
We could file an appeal but were denied by insurance because the place was habitable just uncomfortable even though how can you live there without power and water in south la?
We’re fortunate and will just deal but we are going to help out other families too...so it’s stretching our budget some.

No I’m not asking why — some are saying if you filed before 9 last night that the papers hadn’t been signed.
I’m not going through this but trying to pass info.
Best of luck to you.

I'm hearing that help is being held up in Orange,TX and not let into Louisiana because of COVID.
Anyone else know about this?

I live in westlake and its the worst damage I've seen in my 41 years by far.
It will be months. Lots of gripes but my family and I are safe and have the means to be ok untill im finished bailing water out of 2 bedrooms and master bedroom
On a positive note, state farm has been unbelievable so far. I'm impressed. Hope it isn't just a front

Heard the same thing, from a law enforcement person. JBE said they weren't welcome because they weren't Covid compliant.

There were hundreds of electrical trucks and emergency vans parked at Ford Park in Beaumont when i passed.

It's a mixed bag. 4 family homes minimal damage in Lake Chuck. Friend in Moss Bluff had some damage to roof but he already repaired it. Some high school friends still in Lake Chuck had almost no damage while others have splinters for a home.
Those with older homes are the ones with easily repairable minor damage. Those with new energy efficient all sealed up homes have nothing.
