For anyone trying to check the Entergy outage map since they’re only showing Entergy Louisiana outages at a mass parish level... If you click on the Entergy Mississippi outage map it will let you see the Louisiana outages at street level.

It’s frickin hot out in Lake Charles lol
Don’t worry, this thunderstorm should cool everyone off in their homes.

Thanks. That worked better but it's not accurate at all. I think they are still assessing the damage

It is not a detailed list of outage information but the power outage.us site has info by parish And for all providers that it tracks. There are a few small providers that are not tracked but most are.
There are also links to the websites of providers that are not tracked in numbers.

not sure where it’s headed but a flat bed of transformers is headed somewhere toward that area.

You all can't catch a break lately. I guess if it cools things off for a bit it will help, but the damaged homes and businesses don't need any more water on them.

You’re right. I feel like a dick now.
So, I’m sitting here under the awning of my little camper. 3 trucks pulled up and went to work on my neighbor’s (business) pole. They moved to my power pole but out of my sight. So I grabbed my chair and a whiskey and got myself a vantage point on the front porch to watch them again. It was great entertainment (comparatively) and I got to visit with them while they were waiting on their next work order.

Did power get restored? Should have told them to come back for a drink after their shift.

I heard the roof came off of the new Tractor Supply in LCH. Any word on the Lowe's right next to it? Is it open?
Posted on 8/29/20 at 2:44 pm to tiger91
Lol, no. There’s no power in calcasieu to restore. They have to get power here first. There are no transmission lines standing.
This is somewhat depressing, but I talked with one of the older guys on the crew.
“This is bad.”
“Really bad?”
“I’ve never worked one this bad...(shaking his head)
And yes, I offered them drinks after work.
ETA: daughter said according to Facebook, Academy is open in Lake Charles. I’m going to make a run for batteries and propane.

Stay safe DL. I hate this for y’all and it’s a helpless feeling over my way.

How does the large decrease in demand affect the operation of the power plants? What kind of different things do they do during these operational anomalies?

5 tarps on my roof and water still pouring in during that rain.

We drove from Katy to LC today to deliver supplies to my husband’s cousins. I have never seen so many downed/snapped power poles in my life. Sometimes as many as 40+ in a row. That’s not counting those big metal towers that hold the lines. Trees down everywhere. Sooooo many more areas to clear pathways to even get to some streets. According to his cousin, father-in-law is a VP for Entergy, hoping to have temporary power in three weeks for critical areas/services.

So happy to hear some stores are open over there. I am from Slidell and was working at the main AT&T cell phone store when Katrina hit. Once we reopened, we were nonstop from the time our doors opened at 7am to when we locked them at 9pm. Our “lunch break” was going to the back and bringing a chicken tender to eat back to the sales floor. Canes was open right down Gause.

Reed Timmer posted that the Meso-Vort pack #2 from omega project was recovered in hackberry — is this what y’all were posting earlier to help find??
