Is the water tower gone and has to be completely replaced? How do you even do that? No one will be able to live there, right? I mean was Nola this extent?

A friend in uptown NOLA rode out Katrina. What kept him in water was some multistory condos that had been built several blocks away. There was no city wide water pressure, BUT he used the water draining out of the condos for necessities and to keep the pot of meat on very low burners (he still had gas). His meat plus that from neighbors' refrigerators, big pot, some vegetables plus water to keep it up at a safe temperature.

For pooping, he had learned from boy scouts how to bury his scat and he did.

I am all good, man. Thanks.

Staying a week longer in NOLA since my house is good. Had someone go in today and it is unscathed. Not even a single shingle is missing. Amazing really.

Was able to pick up a generator in sugar land for my brother today. Gonna try to head that way this afternoon. Does anyone know if I 10 east bound is open from TX into La?

I assumed Welsh wasn't that much better off than Iowa. My worried about Jennings because my wife's great aunt over that way is elderly but I know she stayed with one of her sons at least.

Our townhome didn’t have a shingle gone. Others around me lost some I think. My fence is gone but it’s all good. House is like I left it. Truly the lucky

Yea. People are driving from LC to Beaumont to get generators and are having no issues getting to and from based on some Facebook posts I have been following.

Thanks Stout.

Also one of the churches in our neighborhood here is collecting all kind of supplies and will be sending 18 wheelers full of help on Sunday. Awesome response from my neighbors so far. A lot of people here with La ties.

Just curious — how long does it take to restore power and water to areas this hard hit??

You should plan on being without power for a couple of weeks.

Neither the euro or gfs is picking up the wave that closer to the lesser Antilles. Not developing it at all. Not that it means much at this point

Both models develop the 2nd wave but send it out to sea before it gets to the east coast.

Like you said, plenty of time before any concern should be made toward those.

This isn't particularly at you deltaland, but I guess I need to make my feelings clear.

Next person to ask me about or discuss the waves out in the Atlantic before Modnay, I'm going to pay a fat man to go to your house and take a huge toilet clogging shite on your kitchen table.

I thank you for your understanding.

Buddy of mine had to re-build his camp on Pecan Island after Rita. When he re-built, he bulked up the pilings with larger cross supports, spared no expense with the project.

Sent me a pic this morning, It's still standing like nothing happened... Even both sets of stairs were intact.

Was a major test, and it passed with flying colors...

Duke, I’m working at the Stine in Jennings today. Not much damage at all that I’ve seen. Half the town has power and the other half doesn’t. Gas station and all the fast food places are open, so is Stine and Walmart.

ETA. If you want to give me the address or even the street I can take some pics for you or even check on them if your comfortable with that. Let me know.

Damn, that’s pretty solid news.
