Getting reliable reports in Cameron that storm surge was around 9-10ft. So less than what was projected.

Bad gust in Pineville. Top part of thinner pine tree just snapped and took out our power lines. Fell across the driveway. I live in a duplex with one other building.

Crap, my folks are over off Esler/Donahue Ferry. They were worried about the pine trees.

Yea I was told the VHF radio chatter over night was talking 8-8.5 ft or so, so in the ballpark, nowhere near the 15-20 ft projected. Hope these reports are true

How bad was the storm surge in LC? Was it as high as they predicted?

Great news...water is slowly receding in lake. Since the gauge is in the SE part of the lake, it makes sense that the east wind pushed water to the west and then the back side of the storm pushed it back, and then some, toward the east.

The angle of approach of Laura made a huge difference.

That is, thankfully, a lot less, isn't it? Weren't they predicting nearly 16 feet? Or was that for a different location?

Not sure. Reports are coming from people who stayed at the LNG plant. But they were inside the 30ft tall storm surge wall built to withstand cat 5 storms.

Thanks. That is not terrible considering the strength of the storm and that being the South part of town.
