Correct me if i'm wrong but 1002 mb is not even a hurricane correct?
you have to check which model run you're looking at
1 this morning had 952 mb... this is a cat 3
1002 mb may not even be a tropical storm

While it's still too early, think the pattern overall supports this. Yes things can change but gonna be a long 2 months basically on here.

I was looking at the most recent run. Shows 1002 into Lafayette. Way too far out I know.

168 hours out isn't fantasy-land like most of the model graphics posted. Well within confident reason when all models show similar possibilities.

that is 97L, 98L is later on in the run as a hurricane southern Texas.

Yeah, we're at just look at ensembles for steering and shear at this point.

Looks like I should bring my surfboard to Rosemary next week

12z Canadian looks like it teases the coast with 97L, never makes landfall, and sends 98L as a Cat2 to Mobile.
It seems like it’s been consistent in wanting to weaken 97L as it’s on its final approach, and holding 98L stronger - anyone have an explanation for that?

Competing shear. Systems within a reasonable proximity to each other will impose shear. Sometimes beneficial for further development producing outflow channels, but mostly negative. 97L would be negatively impacted

97L is moving faster and the shear is projected to be stronger for it vs 98L.

The Icon also showing 97L as a broad, sheared system with 98L the real deal behind it.
