Galveston worried but cautiously optimistic you'll miss the worst.

Beaumont still full pucker.

We left lake charles at 6:45 this morning and it was possibly the smoothest trip to Baton Rouge I've ever driven. Even stopped at Billy's since traffic was so light

Didn't Harvey approach around 2mph? That'd be 50inches of rain.

No, We've always opted to drive to CO or NC

I'm curious as to how high you can camp comfortably at BB.

For reference...if this forecast happens God help Lake Charles...

Historic Crests
(1) 13.00 ft on 10/01/1913
(2) 11.00 ft on 09/13/2008 (IKE)
(3) 9.43 ft on 09/24/2005 (RITA)

13 The river is at its flood of record. Over half of the city of Lake Charles is flooded.

11 Major flooding occurs. These water levels are near those reached during the storm surge of Hurricane Ike in 2008. Major flooding can be expected in Westlake and Lake Charles with numerous homes inundated.

10 Backwater flooding in the north and east portions of Lake Charles will occur.

Over 4 feet HIGHER than IKE levels is forecast. Damn.

Easy to say if you don't live there or have family there.

While not ideal, New Orleans area has a ton of pet-friendly hotels with vacancies from tonight through Saturday (that's the range I searched--I'm sure you can stay longer/shorter if needed).

Really low rates, too. Good luck, brother.

Try a hotel in new Iberia. There’s a few by Lowe’s
I don’t think new Iberia is going to get anything too bad. 70mph might knock power out though
