JBE too worries about COVID.
Storm of a decade and we wont provide a shelter because of a virus that kills 1 in 1200
This is how a governor gets recalled.

The last update for Alexandria was 3-5 inches through Friday.
Not sure where 10-15 came from.
We are here evacuated sand watching local weather as well as this thread and national.
Winds and power outages is what worries me.

What I feared I would get up and see this morning.
To state the obvious, very serious situation unfolding for our SWLA people. Y'all get away from the water, leave if you have trees that could fall on your house, and have a good sturdy shelter for this. Looking increasingly likely to be a Category 4 at landfall.
My heart goes out to y'all.

Im a little south of you, the biggest thing i'm expecting is power outages. I don't think unusual amounts of rain are whats going to create problems around here.

dont know if that hay bale deal will work or not. But I appreciate his comment
They will be heavy AF once they get water soaked. I'm curious to see this play out.

Presoak those bales and its better than any boarding up you could ever do

If it was me I'd be letting the water hose run on them to make them heavier to get a jumpstart.

Power is my concern I'm a hotel. These windows don't open for us to cool off a bit.
I was able to get my dad on the first floor in the event of power failure. He can't climb stairs if elevator out.

I believe when Rita hit her strength was on the decline. Laura is weaker mid but intensifying. It could end up worse than Rita.

At least get the Vette to higher ground.
I didn't read the article, but I assume he's only worried about wind. Hopefully.
