The Derrick on Mars was knocked down for Katrina and they had waves over the first deck which was + 60’ or so. Did a lot of work for shell back then and they had a presentation of Katrina damage I got to watch.

Man. I’d be blowing their phone up insisting they come stay. It’s not worth it.

That LC friend is in much, much worse shape than that Beaumont friend, if we're comparing friends in shitty situations.

We’re still staying — just don’t want to not be able to get back. If u need to at the last minute we’ll go to my sons in Lafayette.

I know I sound like I'm on their payroll, but check out hurricanetrack.com.
It will cost you $10, but you will get access to live cams up and down the coast.

Anyone want to make a TD login? I'll Venmo $1.

I was planning on staying but looking at the growth from last night my fat arse is rolling out. Cat 4 is a bit more than I want to contend with.

Good luck all staying.

Yeah I am always fascinated by them. I kinda wanted to see what would happen if Fujiwhara effect happened but I know that is good for nobody.

A sliver of good news from Levi just now:

[quote]Morning sounding from Lake Charles, LA shows southwest flow above 400mb that will start shearing #Laura near the time of landfall. This could halt intensification or cause slight weakening just before landfall. Unfortunately, it will be too late to prevent a Cat 3-4 strike. LINK ]
