Been away from the thread for awhile. Any other drastic movements this storm can make or do we have it pretty zoned in on SWLA?

You know you can look at the very first post in the thread and see that, right?

Grew up in Eunice and can still remember Lily being horrible in the area between Eunice and Chataignier. Lost power for something like 10 days. Then a few years later right after Katrina, Rita rolled through and we were still having football practice the Monday after. Nobody back home is really concerned though.

Holly Beach will likely be washed away in this one for good.

The Sulphur baws really do need to watch out for surge AND winds. I fear catastrophic damage to many homes.

So is Galveston clear of the max winds. BIL lives in league city.

Thanks. I am likely going off the model that Levi showed and not a dropsonde.

One more question then I will hang up for the night.
Love the tracker you have of the center line. However I suspect the edges of the cone “should”’ be narrowing. Is there a way to measure the same shift on the East/West edge and also where can I find the historical average or median storm deviation from the center X hours out?

Correct, it does not appear as if the eyewall will go over Galveston.

How pissed are the Weather Channel on site reporters?
Usually they are an hour away, never reporting from the eye wall.

Ok so the cone isn't really representative of uncertainty in the forecast. It's 1 sd of the error over the past five (IIRC) years from the NHC. So the cone actually shows you the typical deviation from the mean for a given timeframe.

The red and green lines are useless shite like humidity and temp.

The wind barbs on the right side are the different winds at different heights. The little table on the right is all I read. Look for the last wind reading and that's typically the surface wind.
