Seeing more traffic then usual on hwy190 coming from the west into Batun Rudge right now. Guess a lot of people got packed up, and left after work today. Hard to imagine what must be going through those peoples minds. Sad thing is seeing kids bikes, lil tykes toys, and stuff like that loaded up on hitch carriers, or in the beds of trucks.

Those poor people may not have a home to get back to once this is all over.

Holly Beach will likely be washed away in this one for good.

I wonder if Hwy 27 survives this time, or if the storm manages to undercut it and take everything from the beach to the marsh.

Showed my wife this and now she's freaking out that we're in NOLA. She's worried it'd make a drastic change and head right for us. Says we should have gone to Dallas. It's her first Hurricane.

She'll feel better in the morning.

As for Sulphur, Rita pushed water up close to I-10. If I remember correctly, it stopped around Fisherman’s HQ, in that general area. My brother loves south of I-10 and some more family down that way as well.

That new subdivision in Carlyss already floods as is. That and they're track homes. That subdivision is fricked.

Do you have a wind field map after the latest update? Also when will the next runs come out from the different models?

For what general area?

Kind of. We're obviously concerned about our home and friends and family that stayed.

Wish y'all the best. Those who stayed are at least in high ground and in a good structure?

HMON going nuts with 125 knot Cat 4 on this run. I guess it is possible, but I surely hope not for everyone in harm's way.

HWRF has 126kt winds 15 hours from now.

Laura has always had bomb out potential, unfortunately.

Coming home after Rita and being able to see across LCH with all the trees gone is unforgettable. Aunt had 16 trees down near the country club, several of them on her house. Really dreading pulling back into town.

Same. Stayed in Alexandria and on the way back, somewhere around DeQuincy we started seeing nothing but pines snapped at the middle. Got progressively worse the more south we went.

Sure, but her immediate concern about her safety will fade by morning when the storm is south of Lafayette.

My brother lives in there.

They recently dug out a third retention pond so hopefully that at least helps.

Yea brick on slab that survived Rita with only a few lifted shingles and is 30 minutes north of Lake Charles.

The rest are an hour north then there's my brother who is hunkered down at the Entergy plant in Westlake. He's a supervisor and had to stay apparently.
