So based off the map you posted with the nhc projected path overlay...it'll will need to head due west from now until then to hit next point?

We were on the west side of Katrina.

I remember grilling outside East Campus Apartments with a shitty charcoal cooktop I bought at CVS that day during Katrina.

I can't tell if these randoms popping in saying expect a more easterly shift in the next few hours know anything about anything or just playing storm tracker and watching these wobbles.

They are obsessing over wobbles

If this makes landfall east of LC that would be a pretty big miss by models and NHC

I bought this one from Lowes last July before Barry and returned it after I didn't need it . Told them it wouldn't run properly. A few weeks later I saw it sitting on their sales floor with a hand written note saying "customer says broke" and it was on sale for $300 instead of the $650 I paid for it. I really should have bought it back for $300 right then and there because I knew there wasn't a damn thing wrong with it.
.

That is worse than aggressive panhandling.

Do you have any data to support the fact you are saying every single meteorologist and model in the country is wrong?

Baw who needs data when you've got that TD PhD?

I’m wouldn’t say it’s a Vermilon Bay storm but if this motion continues I’d say we looking at a definite Cameron Parish landfall

To be fair, the NHC states that a tropical cyclone could make landfall anywhere within their cone of error

. This is a Vermillion Bay storm. I would keep my eye on it if I lived within 20 miles East or West of New Iberia.

This would include me. The nursing home where I do consulting is in New Iberia. As of now I was told they’re sheltering in place. The one time that they evacuated since I’ve been there (12+years) was a CLUSTER as you can imagine.

I can’t for this dude to come into the thread in 36 hours when it makes landfall in Port Arthur and go “Man, I could’ve sworn that thing was headed north. Something must have pushed it”

Obviously I recognize the names of posters more educated and trustworthy, but people making a definitive statement like I've seen is annoying as frick.

ANYONE making a definitive statement about a landfall at this time is just throwing shite at the wall and hoping it sticks.

When professionals refuse to make definitive statements, you know what to take with a grain of salt.

Makes me wonder if coming straight from the south pushes MORE water than Rita considering she came in at a NW angle. Laura is going to be straight north for the most part.
.

I think when they take the coast from SE to NW hey push more water. Let’s hear from the experts please.

Again, a landfall just east of LC would be a forecast verification for NHC

That looks more north to me those last couple of frames

It’s also possible that it appears this way because it’s finally getting vertically stacked where the low and mid level centers line up
