Which probably means that it and the extreme outliers shouldn't even be posted here.

Has there ever been a time when two major hurricanes hit the U.S. at the same time? I know some have happened a week or two apart.

Just so we’re clear here, no model is predicting both of these to be a major.

Just so we are clear here, yesterday at this time neither the GPS or the Euro predicted a tropical depression and now we have two.

Simultaneous? No, but friends of mine near Lake Charles had the worry and damage from Katrina, only to be walloped by Rita which (to him) seemed like the next day.

He moved to the Bay Area of California shortly thereafter.

As of now TD 13 has a better chance of being a major than TD 14.

Hey pal, that was because the models never had any specific center to lock in on so the models were guessing even more than normal then.

Well yeah the whole going over the Yuca"tanned" (spring break joke) Peninsula thing kind of helps put some kibosh on it.

First HMON run on TD14 has a weak system hitting mouth of the Miss. R. and/or MS coast

Yes they are still limited (guessing) and will have a better chance to catch up in time. Aircraft will check out each system today, and that will be a big help.
Right now things are fluid. The experts aren’t predicting major hurricanes. But folks need to be vigilant. Anything can happen in late August. No time to panic, just time to think things through if tgd news turns bad.

Outflow rapidly improving with #TD14 and headed into some of the deepest, warmest water in the basin. If the core can get better organized, watch out for this one potentially overachieving model expectations.

Just saw that posted on Twitter, interesting to say the least.

Would it be wise to consider evacuating Plaqumines and Orleans Parishes at this time?
