Am I blind? Doesn't the receipt in the OP say 1 cup of gumbo is 22.47? There is no $ sign on that line item at all. If I'm wrong, I'll admit it. But I see 22.47 clearly.

Why do blacks order well-done filets and ribeyes? I never understood this weird phenomenon amongst blacks.

I tried to order gumbo at Louisiana Bistreaux once, and the waitress asked me if I'd had it before and said that people send it back a lot. Apparently this send-back-the-gumbo thing is a real phenomenon.
I also had a waitress at Spondivit's (right across the street) tell our table "once the food hits the table, it's purchased."
I am white but was with a black chick both times. (Two different chicks, pics on Lipstick Alley.)

Generally thermal printers, no ink. You can take your nail and mark the receipt.

Not gonna lie, if you’ve been in the restaurant business long enough and dealt with a party like this, you can almost come up with a reason why restaurants were at one point segregated. It’s quite surreal to watch both black and white servers try to blend into the background and quietly pray to god, begging him not to have that large party that just came through the door. Everyone one in the building knows what’s about to go down and everyone knows how it’s going to end. I’ve listened to black coworkers who are furious because in their words “mother frickers like that are the fricking reason they can’t go out and enjoy a decent meal”.
