You complain, but this keeps her out of the city and minimizes damage.....I endorse this as well as stuff like this, it is taxpayer money well spent

Me and you and all other fine taxpaying citizens. Totally worth it.

Is there any substance to being designated a "sister city"? As of 2017, New Orleans already had several sister cities, including:

Caracas, Venezeula
Durban, South Africa
Innsbruck, Austria
Juan-les-Pins, France
Orléans, France
Maracaibo, Venezuela
Matsue, Japan
Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico
Pointe-Noire, Republic of the Congo
San Miguel de Tucumán, Argentina
Tegucigalpa, Hunduras
Isola del Liri, Italy

No, really. She's not my mayor because I live in Ascension Parish.

Same here. Where I live we don't even have a mayor.

As a new orleans resident, i for one can not wait to reap the benefits of this new relationship

If the city isn’t paying...she is taking vacation time for this?

In BR we have water, sewer and garbage combined in a single bill. Ours is rarely over $85 for all 3.

Same for my family right down the street in Jeff Parish

They are cities that the mayors all wanted free paid vacations to visit.

What benefit does New Orleans get out of this? What is the point of the mayor of NO meeting with the mayor of some shithole city in a shithole African country?

I think it is like handing out a key to the city.

I remember Gonzales, LA has a sister city in France somewhere. Has been like that since at least the 90s it seems.

They even had it on their welcome signs for a while.

The mind boggles at anything mutual at all. From distance to nearest airport, to color of fresh water rivers, to the fishing fleet.....

Little known fact about Ghana: if you’re a black American, you can move there under Right of Return.
