Ok so she somehow gets recalled, who is the next mayor? A carbon copy of LaToya.

The problem is the inhabitants.

This is correct also. Progressives are the LCD of society. Their leaders reflect that perfectly.

So is this the New Orleans version of the St. George comedy show? Nice.

Let me guess, our state's "GOP supermajority" is standing by to help solve the city's problems.

If so, they might have screwed up big time. From what I understand reading the documentation from the registrar, the 5 day grace period only applies to new signatures and any signatures obtained prior to the original deadline would have had to go in the first batch to be considered. “Signature dated before petitioner deadline” was one of the rejection reasons listed under “other.”

Could be.

There’s a reality that we all know they didn’t get 30k signatures that week so we will see if they still audited and bounced a bunch for standard reasons and the rest “other” due to that

Just went to nolatyo.org and do not see any statements from the recall people. They need to issue some kind of statement ASAP about what is going on. To me it looks like the city and the governor are trying to pull a fast one and their journo shills at the TP/Advocate are giving them the press they want to make it sound like this is already over.

This recall failure is a huge win for the criminals in the city.

Probably best to just stay indoors for the foreseeable future

So they could blanket reject all of those additional signatures because they weren't on time?

I don’t know that any of us are experts, but certainly there is some cutoff. Not sure if that was violated here. Would be a massive mistake if so.

The framing in the news is aggressively “it’s over, no questions need be asked”

That said, they need to make sure they aren’t just fast to respond but accurate and detailed if they believe it’s unfair. Any weakness in what they put out will be ripped open and pointed at to no end.

People dismissing this result as simply libs protecting latoya are lazy and haven’t paid any attention to this recall.

The organizers are led by a retard who claims to be too retarded to hold an actual job. They were shifty and shady AS frick leading up to and following the deadline. Wouldn’t answer any questions about the culmination of their efforts.

Claimed they had MORE than enough several weeks before the deadline and then turned in more than half of what they had on day 5 of the 5 day grace period.

You need to be inch perfect to succeed in these things, and everyone with a brain knew that from the beginning. Nevertheless the nolatoya campaign stepped on their collective dicks repeatedly and basically fricked themselves from the very beginning.

Dems didn’t need any frickery to easily destroy this pathetic attempt. Those paying attention knew this months ago.

The organizers started off shaky but got their shite together pretty quickly by all accounts. They never claimed to have more than enough, in fact they came out and said they only needed a few more signatures.

I agree that the initial organizers were way out of their depth, but over time it seemed like the movement had gotten some fairly good organizational support and funding, at least enough to get 45k valid signatures.

I am not going to believe that they turned in 40k invalid signatures until we get some kind of proof/explanation. Anyone who has ever spent any time in NO city hall or courts should have very little faith in the "certification" process that JBE was smugly beaming about earlier today.

Everyone with a brain knew latoya would make this a race issue. How did the organizers get out in front of this issue? By hitting the whitest neighborhoods in the city before anywhere else to collect signatures. Not hard to paint the effort as white vs black when the first 10k signatures were probably 90% white.

Retarded.
