She is a drunk. She’s the mayor and She goes out all the time and gets drunk. Now she’s getting in people’s face because she’s drunk and she feels like she needs to confront people that don’t agree with her.
She’ll make excuses and say that the guy was offensive and needed to be confronted but the real issue is her drinking. She does it a lot and a lot in public. It was only a matter or time before something like this happened.
A public figure can and will get confronted when they are out in a social spot like a bar.
Now She has every right to confront someone that is being offensive or rude but there is no doubt that the measure of her response is largely influenced by her drinking. The video shows her belligerence which is a common behavior for a drunk.
It would have been far better for her to calmly walk out and let the guy look like the obnoxious drunk but she got all righteous and it’s largely because she was drunk.
She has a problem

She’s a walking talking stereotype.
At first I thought she was faking that ghetto accent to appeal to her female ghetto fan base (mostly black women vote in NOLA - black men are either disengaged from politics or have felony convictions and cannot vote) - but increasingly of late I realize, she really is just so ignorant and uneducated and this is her natural voice.
I am appalled.

Morial was the black Edwin Edwards. Dressed well, spoke well, stole a lot, and generally the trains ran on time.

Helena has supported every Communist party plank Latoya has implemented.

Pre Katrina Nagin was a good dude.
First term, pre-Katrina Nagin was probably the best we've had in a long time... not that there is much to compare to.
But look... I think we all learned that being the affirmative action hire to run the local cable monopoly isn't exactly the same as being a successful businessman.
His leadership was good when things were easy. He modernized city hall technology and permitting, which was needed (although the guy he picked to do that... and did that... also didn't understand that while kickbacks are normal in the private sector, they aren't looked at kindly in the public sector).
But when it got tough, he was way in over his head.

The only difference between her and the councilman that crashed his car while drunk is that she's at least smart enough to never turn down her security detail or her driver. But the fact she drinks so much is why she didn't really call the councilman out too harshly.

There used to be a time where our leaders were held to a higher standard. Drunk or not, what does her getting in a verbal altercation with someone accomplish? Ooh, that she can stand up for herself? Our leaders used to know enough to walk away in times like this. Now, they want to fight back.

Also shame on the polo lounge for letting its standards decline

All the stupid trash all over social media screaming “YOU GO GIRL!!!” to this shite.

Windsor Court used to be our weekend getaway 2-3 times a year. Day drinking in the quarter, take an hour nap around 4:00. Get dressed and have pre dinner drinks in the Polo Lounge, go have dinner, post dinner drinks at the Ritz listening to Jeremy Davenport. Go back to the Polo Lounge for some more drinks, and then stumble back to the room for sexy time with the wife. Those were the good ole days!! With that said…I will never return to NO unless it’s absolutely necessary.

The telling part of all of this is that everyone across the socio-economic and political spectrum complained about the city's lack of response post storm until this incident. Now back to tribal lines and painting Toya as the victim.

Yep…they’ll wallow around in their own stinking trash defending the very person responsible for the lack of response.

The funniest part is that they’re undoubtedly the ones who were nitpicking Trump’s every word about not being presidential enough
As Dave Chappelle said, “that behavior may be fine for a mayor, but god dammit not the President”

As someone who helped design the plan to evacuate the city, you don’t need 72 hours. 36 is enough.
