Only NOLA would elect someone who was caught stealing from the city. Not only did she not get fired for stealing, she got elected mayor.
Shows just how pathetic the city is at this time and the lack of qualified candidates who would even bother to take the job.

How a human being can type these in the same descriptor is mind boggling to me. It's not your fault, you've just been traumatized by years of being abused in that world class DUMP.
DUDE, the city is crap and getting worse daily

Grew up on the Northshore and have no interest in moving back to hang out with people from my high school years that never flew the coup
quote:right, b/c there are no parks on the NS
I love being able to swing by City/Audubon park on the way home from picking them up from school.
quote:right, b/c everyone on the NS commutes to work across the lake?
I can't imagine spending 2 hours in my car 5 days a week driving across that bridge
quote:St Tamm schools are still La schools...but to say they aren't leaps and bounds better than NO schools...ummmmm. but you still don't have any valid point
Also, almost everyone I know with kids on the Northshore sends them to private school just like you have to do here on the Southshore

why does every one of these threads have to deteriorate into these pissing matches between Nola and NS, or Nola and Houston, or Nola and BR...?
NOLA's inferiority complex?
Say something nice about the north shore, Atlanta, or Baton Rouge and it's fricking war.

I thought Henry was well qualified to address some of the city's woes. Didn't really count for much.

"This prestigious ranking as a world-class destination tells us what we have already known about New Orleans - that the city is like no other. It's not just the hospitality - it's the rich cultural experience that makes people remember New Orleans and come back again and again," said Mayor Mitch Landrieu.
"Only in New Orleans can you walk a few simple steps from your hotel to hear a jazz musician on the street or in a club, enjoy world-class cuisine from the country's most celebrated and unique restaurants and be inspired by the historic French and Spanish architecture found only in our city," said Stephen Perry, President and CEO, New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. "This recognition from such a renowned and respected evaluator of world destinations trumpets not only the unequalled hospitality and authenticity of New Orleans, but the very passion shown to visitors by everyone in the tourism industry on a daily basis... from the musicians to the busboys, the chefs to the bellmen and housekeepers. We celebrate life and the travel experience here, and awards like this make us all proud."

Pretty sure that guy was trolling.
He got the candidates completely confused.

The last time we had a BOLD/SOUL/COUP/TIPS/LIFE/NOEL political power struggle was when Morial/Nagin were in office. I strongly suspect we will have another dynamic alphabet soup street war on the horizon as that political war brought down Bill Jefferson family, Rene Gill Pratt, Pampe Barre, and dozens of others.

yes. without Latoya Cantrell no one would've moved back to Broadmoor. The rest of the city would've come back, but not Broadmoor. Not without Latoya.
It was supposed to be leveled and made into a park. What are you referring to?
