Only NOLA would elect someone who was caught stealing from the city. Not only did she not get fired for stealing, she got elected mayor.

Shows just how pathetic the city is at this time and the lack of qualified candidates who would even bother to take the job.

How a human being can type these in the same descriptor is mind boggling to me. It's not your fault, you've just been traumatized by years of being abused in that world class DUMP.
DUDE, the city is crap and getting worse daily

so folks on the SS don't hang out with folks they went to HS with?

right, b/c there are no parks on the NS

right, b/c everyone on the NS commutes to work across the lake?

Also, almost everyone I know with kids on the Northshore sends them to private school just like you have to do here on the Southshore
St Tamm schools are still La schools...but to say they aren't leaps and bounds better than NO schools...ummmmm. but you still don't have any valid point

NOLA's inferiority complex?

Say something nice about the north shore, Atlanta, or Baton Rouge and it's fricking war.

I thought Henry was well qualified to address some of the city's woes. Didn't really count for much.

"This prestigious ranking as a world-class destination tells us what we have already known about New Orleans - that the city is like no other. It's not just the hospitality - it's the rich cultural experience that makes people remember New Orleans and come back again and again," said Mayor Mitch Landrieu.

"Only in New Orleans can you walk a few simple steps from your hotel to hear a jazz musician on the street or in a club, enjoy world-class cuisine from the country's most celebrated and unique restaurants and be inspired by the historic French and Spanish architecture found only in our city," said Stephen Perry, President and CEO, New Orleans Convention and Visitors Bureau. "This recognition from such a renowned and respected evaluator of world destinations trumpets not only the unequalled hospitality and authenticity of New Orleans, but the very passion shown to visitors by everyone in the tourism industry on a daily basis... from the musicians to the busboys, the chefs to the bellmen and housekeepers. We celebrate life and the travel experience here, and awards like this make us all proud."

He got the candidates completely confused.

The last time we had a BOLD/SOUL/COUP/TIPS/LIFE/NOEL political power struggle was when Morial/Nagin were in office. I strongly suspect we will have another dynamic alphabet soup street war on the horizon as that political war brought down Bill Jefferson family, Rene Gill Pratt, Pampe Barre, and dozens of others.

BOLD (Black Organization for Leadership Development) based in Central City. Members: Jim Singleton, Dorothy Mae Taylor* (deceased), Karen Carter Peterson, Mayor LaToya Cantrell, Austin Badon, Judge Sidney Cates, Dwight McKenna, City Councilman Jay Banks, Diane Bajoie, Oliver Thomas, & Judge Harry Cantrell.

TIPS (Treme Improvement Political Society aka Greater Treme Consortium) based in the 6th Ward/Treme. Members: Michael Bagneris who backed LaToya Cantrell & Jay Banks.

LIFE (Louisiana Independent Federation of Electors) city-wide following. Members: Marc Morial, Jacques Morial, Sheriff Marlin Gusman, Assessor Errol Williams, City Councilman Jared Brossett.

SOUL (Southern Organization for United Leadership) based in the 9th Ward and parts of NOLA East. Members: Sherman Copeland, Don Hubbard

COUP (Community Organization for Urban Politics) based in the 7th Ward. Members: Sidney Barthelemy, Mitch Landrieu, Moon Landrieu, Judge Desiree Charbonnet, Bunny Charbonnet, Public Service Commissioner Lambert Boissiere, Constable Lambert Boissiere Jr., Blair Boutte, Ike Spears, and Cedric Richmond.

NOEL (New Orleans East Leadership) based in NOLA East. Members: Sen. Wesley Bishop

APAC (Algiers Political Action Committee) based in Algiers. State Sen. JP Morrell, Troy Carter

It was supposed to be leveled and made into a park. What are you referring to?

Broadmoor should have been turned in to a park.
