How do you think Russia will escalate? What forces are they going to use? The only way Russia can escalate is by using chemical or nukes.
They are short of troops and do not have the manpower to escalate. Any talk of mobilization is a Russian pipe dream that won’t bear fruit for several months. That will be too late.

How do people like you function? Russia has had the same guy running the country for 20 plus years in a regime that openly poisons his political opponents. How’s that for corruption and authoritarian tendencies? I honestly don’t know how you can exist day to day with so much cognitive dissonance.
Jump to conclusions mat is out I see. I don't support Russia. I care about Russia as much I care about Ukraine, which is none. I do care about the significant money we've invested in the war, though.

sounds like its in everyones best interest for russia to stop its invasion. dont you agree?

I'd be more inclined to think Putin would be willing to resort to that rather than see Russia lose a war. It's not like he's going to get sanctioned more. He's on an island already.

A helluva lot better than it has for Russia.

What about Ukraine (and their hawkish attitude towards Russia)
Those fricking Ukrainian war hawks went and invaded Russia... oh wait.

How about 3.5 bil we give the Israelis every year? this is a minimal investment to bleed out a rival. Bonus: Russians are scum.

The second he pops off a nuke, I believe nato will get involved. Then who knows where it will end up.

This thread is infested with people who fancy themselves geopolitical experts who've never left their home states.
You know who you are, and the rest of us who've actually spent time outside the US also know who you are based on your stupid fricking posts on this subject.

I'm not a fan of war at all. I don't even think we should be pursuing help to Ukraine. It's not our battle. If anything, this war has shown that Russia is decades behind any western power and really isn't a threat economically or militarily.
On one hand I don't think Russia should have invaded. On the other there was serious conflict between the Ukraine government and ethnic Russians with a battalion of Neo-Nazis as the poster boys of anti-Russian sentiment. It is fricked all ways. There isn't any good guys here. And before someone says Azov doesn't represent Ukraine, they meant enough for Zelensky to have a member available for a live stream to the Greek goverment (which didn't go over well).
There are few voices in between here. It's like were watching 80s USA v USSR movies and everyone wants to cheerlead against the soviets. These guys can't afford a pot to piss in. They are no threat.

Absolutely correct. We need it here in the US. Glad we agree.

Tell me you know absolutely nothing about Ukraine without telling me you know absolutely nothing about Ukraine.
You are doing nothing but parroting Russian talking points.
Some of us have been there. Have you?

That’s more than fair. I don’t want us to bankroll an endless conflict and I support a diplomatic solution if achievable, not that I trust Putin to abide by it. Just don’t insult our intelligence and tell us there’s any moral equivalence between a dictator with a personal stranglehold on his country who assassinates his opponents and whatever you seem to think Ukraine/ Zelensky has done (ban a dozen fringe parties engaged in active treason?)

I agree, but a guy with his (potential) mental state isn't someone who I would try and rationalize. I mean according to this thread he is evil, so I don't understand why people are putting a line in the sand on what he will or won't do.

I've never been to China. Can I not have opinions about it? I'm sure you have opinions on places you've never been. This talking point works on some people, but obviously fails when you realize having been somewhere doesn't mean you are an expert. People who have lived in the US all their lives still don't know basic laws.

That number seems a bit high. Sources?

Sure. And when people who've lived and worked with the Chinese tell you your take is bullshite, you should listen.

The talking points from Russia have been working rather well on you based on your responses.

This statement is irrelevant. But for shits and giggles, try me.
I'm saying you're an ignorant American who's opining on shite he has no experience on. Prove me wrong. I'll wait.

You gotta step away from the typical talking points though. I don't care about Russia or Ukraine. What I am saying though, is that to me, some guy who pulls on your tear ducts to get 30 bill sent to him and some guy who is a dictator wanna be are worth the same, nothing. So many over the past two months are Ukraine stans but as some other poster pointed out, shouldn't even have an opinion because they've never been there (that's how it works right?). I don't care that the level of corruption isn't full blown Russia in Ukraine, but it still isn't anything that resembles what we have in our American geopolitical climate.
