If that decision was made
8 years ago it was made with Putin lol. This is completely his baby.

Is Joe referring to afternoon nap contests?

We spent 4 years fighting and destroying our own country because of butt hurt feelings and political corruption feeding bullshite narratives to the dumbass sheep population of our country.
Meanwhile, China and Russia were playing 4D chess laughing at how stupid the liberals were being played left and right.

Don't know if it's been posted but:

2 more merchant ships hit by Russian attacks in Black Sea.
Japanese bulk carrier MV Namura Queen hit by a rocket at anchor off Yuzhne.
Moldovan chemical tanker MV Millennial Spirit hit and set on fire 12 miles to the south

It makes zero sense for him to hit other nation's merchant ships.

I've seen this movie before....not good. Should have let Patton have his way in '45

If article 5 is triggered, what are the next moves on the board? What dominoes fall next? Full scale NATO land invasion of russia? Which countries ally with russia? Does China take advantage of that and weak leadership to invade Taiwan?
I think it would look like NATO boots probably moving into Ukraine to engage Russian forces directly. Naval warfare in the Black and Baltic Seas. The goal would probably be to just push Russia back behind their borders.
The threat of nuclear war increases if we strike Russian mainland, so I don't know if NATO would actually do that. That's why the battles would likely take place in "neutral" areas. If that were the scenario, who knows if China would see any value in intervening on behalf of the Russians.
If China does choose to invade Taiwan, you could see a shelling attack on Seoul from North Korea being made in conjunction, the purpose of which would be to split up the US response. But again, who knows if North Korea would see the value in intervening on behalf of China's aspirations. An attack on South Korea would open the door for Canada and Japan to step in, in some capacity.
These are all things I've seen speculated across the internet over the past couple of weeks - I'm just regurgitating them here as I'm obviously no expert.

Was just perusing Flight Radar 24 and counted 4 USAF aerial refueling planes. 3 in Poland about 75 miles or so west of the Ukrainian border and one in Northern Romania.
Also a RAF Rivet Joint in Poland and a flight of two US Army Blackhawks about 50 miles west of the border.
There’s more but you get the point

Do we have a link or more info on the merchant ships?
Posted on 2/25/22 at 11:51 am to BohicaBob
Make that 5 tankers in Poland and 2 in northern Romania
That’s a lot of aerial refueling capability for one rivet joint flying around

Literally the same thing, but nah us and NATO are blameless. Only Putin is bad in the equation.
People boil complex geopolitical and historical issues down to singular actions/individual guilts when they’re far more complex.
There was a time on this board when comments like this would be ridiculed for sounding like Obama on his "I'm sorry. America bad," apology tour he did at the beginning of his administration.

You say that as if Putin is an individual who regularly uses logic or reason.

Whats the deal with these people. Is Chechnya part of Russia or seperate? Are they all trained black op assassins?
It’s a 95% Muslim region in the caucuses. It was part of the USSR and after it dissolved they had a war with Russia and gained independence then in 2000 Russia gained back control in the 2nd Chechen war.
They’re a violent rebellious group and Russia likes to use them as cannon fodder because they are brutal and not native Russian so their deaths don’t matter to the Kremlin

Putin's clearly unhinged but it could also be that Russian command and control sucks.
NATO secretary general speaking now and he sounds pretty bellicose. The chance of this thing spilling outside Ukraine are increasing.
