Ya, and Russia also said they weren't going to invade Ukraine.

I've listened to a few old interviews with him, and it is really impressive good he is at lying. Doesn't bat an eye.

I am listening to the Dems and Biden. I am praying that the Ukrainian Azov Battalion, Right Sector, and White Hammer divisions beat back the Russians. Ukraine has had 8 years of civil war. If they want to be Nazis then that is no business of the Russians. Our racist Dems and Liberal leaders are wanting you to support Ukrainian Facism....so we def should.

WTF?

It wouldn’t be too surprising that on the US-Russia communication back channel if this was our point of escalation. Something like this is straight out of the Cold War playbook which is ‘good ol days’ hard on Putin seems to be seeking.

the Nazi influence of Azoz could seriously impact geopolitics is remarkably small.

And…as discussed 55 times in this thread, the current Eastern European definitions of “Nazi” vary significantly from what we think of that term in the West.

WELL.....I spent just under three years there and I can tell you first hand that it is far more prevalent than you are being led to believe. The leader is a puppet. Find some people that have lived there and ask them how it is. My post was sarcasm for our leaders and media to back the Ukraine. Russia is no better IMHO but I know first hand that everyone is being mislead on the good old Ukrainian government. We shouldnt be involved in any capacity.

Given how hard the people of Ukraine have fought makes me think they apparently like their elected puppet better than the Russian one, so yeah, I am fine with US helping them get to remain independent.

You Russian defenders try and slough over the fact that Russia invaded the Ukraine killing thousands, and putting millions on the street out of their homes.

As far as I am concerned we are helping a little guy fight the neighborhood bully. They have the want, they just need the hardware.

Screw Russia, they need to stay home and they need to quit screwing up the continent. They are the direct cause of all of this misery and suffering.

This offensive is another pile of shite by Russia-the ground hasn’t firmed up at all and now the rainy season is beginning. How do you say “April showers bring may flowers” in Russian?

It's Ukraine, not "the Ukraine". Which tells me everything I need to know about you.

And how odd. I've been to Ukraine as well, and all the Ukrainians I know say the Nazi influence there is about as much as the KKK here. In other words, almost nothing.

I’ve been told chemical or nukes are our do not disturb sign. Message delivered the day Russia meekly said we keep supplying Ukraine and the results would be “unpredictable”. I’m just now understanding why all those Russian diplomats were expelled from all those countries a few weeks back. Anonymous or some other hacker group managed to get all Russian spy names and details from the FSB GRU database. I’m convinced Russia is stuck in 1986 now.

I’ve been to Ukraine 3 times and everyone seemed pretty friendly and interested in other countries and cultures-very respectful.

They're trying to embrace a national culture of multi-lingualism that you see in a number of European countries (e.g. Belgium, Switzerland) and it can work. Zelensky's first language is Russian and he moves back and forth between Russian and Ukrainian in his speeches.

It's not the true european rainy season. That is in the fall. However the spring Rasputitsa is not over until the middle of May.
